The All New Tas - What's for Dinner Thread - & - Don't Get Uppity.

Tas mentioned there was a good thread on - What's for Dinner.

Seems it ended up - a bit ' snooty '.

So - no fancy - dancy - stuff - just good fresh ideas for dins.

Oh - & Freddie - just loved the zucchini slice - if you could just put it here one more time - I swear not to lose it again.

And please - this time add the - zucchinis. lol.

Here - tonight - Chicken Schnit's with salad.

Was the picture of delicious dumplings really necessary.

Haven't had them forever - can you put up a recipe - have forgotten how to make them the real way.

Bavarian Dumplings

1 loaf (approx) stale bread or ½ doz stale rolls

1 onion chopped

2 eggs

1 cup milk

salt, pepper and parsley

Tear bread into about 1" pieces into a large bowl. Gently fry onion until golden.

Add to bread. Gently heat milk and pour all over bread.  Add eggs, salt and pepper and chopped parsley.

Use your hands (and this is where I insist on food gloves) to squash all the mixture together to thoroughly combine.

You may need to add some more milk if too dry, or some more bread, or breadcrumbs

will do, if it's too wet.

Using wet hands, form hand sized balls and drop into boiling, salted water.

Do not let the water stop boiling as you add them.   Simmer for 20 mins.

These can be served whole straight away, or cut into thick slices,  and fried in butter till brown.

They are easily frozen.

Mum cooked tonight, been a while but she has more energy now. Smiley Happy

Stir fry mince beef, rice and cabbage with a soy based sauce.

Very nice with good flavour.

I still used a splash of 'wheres your sister sauce', as you do with these types of dishes. Smiley Very Happy

(Lea n Perrins of course)

Re: The All New Tas - What's for Dinner Thread - & - Don't Get Uppity.

Have been at my local for dinner & trivia.

Had Spaghetti bolognese.

Trivia, only two of us in the team tonight, and done quite well considering.

One person couldn't make it, and my wife stayed home as  she was not well.

Daughter's making Loaded Roast Potatoes for dinner.

She will put a selection of goodies on the table, for us to choose what we want on them.
