" Freedom is the right to tell people what they don't want to hear. " George Orwell

Doe the Freedom of speech give us the right to offend? Do you support the freedom of speech, even if it may offend someone?

How do you deal with topics or speech you find offensive?

What's the difference between free speech and hate speech? Aren't they the same thing but you just find one that doesn't agree with your view?

”In order to think , you need to risk being offensive” Jordan B peterson. Do you agree with him?

NB: we're only talking about speech, not a call for violence/action.

Go.

I support freedom of speech.

Here - Freedom of speech - simply means the freedom of expression - the adult version - being able to have an ' opinion ' (you certainly do) - being able to express who & what you are (including drag queens) -  it does not encompass - hate, vilification, racism nor bigotry.

This is a right we have. However we should use it responsibly. Often under the guise of free speech, people have used it to promote racism and religious hate such as against Jews or Muslims. This is because lies, slants and distortions are used and not fact.

Those are the things this so called piece of paper guard against - in a Court of Law.

BTW: Eric Blair was a very wise man.

There were only three wise men. LOL

As I inferred, something that flies above a piece of paper.

Flies way above what post #4 says.

Are you saying that your opinion is worth more than our Constitution?

That you are exempt from libellous prosecution?

The Australian Constitution – Parliament of Australia (aph.gov.au)

George Orwell must be spinning like a top in his grave in frustation at the way his name is constantly taken in vain by the sort of right wing dingbats he absolutely loathed.

You have the power to make things go Pith, Path and Poof | Perking the Pansies.

With great power comes great responsibility. Use it wisely.

Actually within Nineteen Eighty-Four is a warning about the false left vs right paradigm. Orwell's message (some say prophecy) was neither for the left nor right. In actual fact, both the left and the right wing are tools that would build a totalitarian society that he warned of.
