I new to eBay and am learning as I go, no problems until now (a few hiccups w/notifications) anyways here's the situation: I sent item to buyer and 2wks later received a msg saying not received yet. after a week of back and forth and me making two trips to the post office to enquire and being told there's delays due to covid they have now launched a buyer request thing anyways in one of the msgs she mentioned the local post office she uses and the name of the postman. Ive just talked to this person and after describing my envelope ( ordinary envelope no tracking or signature required which is my mistake) he recalled very specifically giving this package to the recipient plus a description of its contents (packing material) so I know it's been delivered. I'm wondering what should I do next do I tell the buyer that there mailman remembers giving it to them or do I contact eBay and give them this information?

Just a question - given this :
She also has said in other msg's that all the other gold and silver she ordered has turned up so why hasn't the package from me.
What are you thinking - sending precious metal through the post without some form of proof of lodgement or tracking. ??

A close up of the markings - and a close up of where they are situated on the piece.
That doesn't work if you're selling gold/silver/platinum in granules.
More than a chance a buyer will say it's lead, and win.

In that case - I'd not buy anything resembling this - online.

I would message the buyer and tell them that their postman remembers giving it to them, call their bluff.
He might even be willing to sign a stat dec??

Here is the BBL - https://www.ebay.com.au/bmgt/BuyerBlock
And yes, members are ALL eBayers, buyers or sellers.

Usually on other sites I send a video of me posting it and pictures of the metal in the envelope. Haven't had a problem till now

Ok. Got it.

Is there anything I can do to stop this from happening such as provide analysis certificates to buyers and eBay? it hasn't happened yet but somebody might try it down the track.

If you're selling on Etsy, taking a picture or video will only help IF it displays the paid postage label and/or shows a receipt from the PO with the buyers name and full address and a time stamp.
Basically, sending a picture of an addressed envelope is not proof if there is no paid postage attached. You could take the picture and not send it, for all anyone knows.

Why are you using the word ' bullion '.??
Bullion refers to physical gold and silver of high purity that is often kept in the form of bars, ingots, or coins. Bullion can sometimes be considered legal tender, and is often held as reserves by central banks or held by institutional investors.
