I'm learning the slow way how ebay works! Just a gripe... I was given a negative star recently for postage and handling. It made me wonder if that rating can be changed? I had an item listed twice and it did not sell. It was in the car ready to go to the second hand store when someone emailed and asked if it was still available. OK, I retreived it, emailed that I'd list it BIN. I did that, but added 10 cents to the postage and handling because I honestly thought retreiving it, listing it BIN and the extra trip to the post office was worth the 10cents. It used up one of my free listings for the month and I didn't know weather they would actually buy it. They did buy it, and they got the item within a few days. I am not talking high finance here... the item was $4.50, p & h originally $1.50; it cost me $1.20 to post and 25 cents for the envelope, so for my trouble I increased my postage and handling charge to $1.60... 10 cents more! The buyer still had the option of bidding for it at a lower price, or not at all. It was a new listing. Thankfully they did leave me positive feedback. I know that they were unaware of the actions from at my end... but honestly... a negative star all over 10 cents! I know this might be silly, but I am new to ebay disputes.   Does somebody know how the process works when the buyer has opened a dispute.   I have the options to Accept the refund & close the dispute      or Don't accept – show other options   If I select 'issue refund' does the money get refunded straight away?   If I select 'Don't accept -show other options' I get the next screen which has options:   Offer a refund for a different amount. Decline this refund request but continue communicating with (buyer name). Escalate this dispute to a PayPal claim. What I would like to do is give refund, but not until the item has been returned. Then after inspecting item, I will issue another refund for return postage if I am at fault. How do I do this?   Thank you for your help ... View more

Hi, I sold a pair of jeans recently. The buyer has quite rudely contacted me and said they are the wrong size. They have said..   "I would like a full refund including postage and i will return these to you cash on delivery for postage. If you are happy to do this i will leave postive feedback for you."   Now my questions are, does anybody know what 'cash on delivery for postage' is? Is this, me to pay the return postage?   I have asked the buyer to send a photo of the tag they are referring to - they stated that the inside leg of the jeans had a SKU number that included 12 on the end of it. According to them, it means the jeans are a size 12 and not a 10(as I said they were in the listing). I referred to the waistband tag which I am sure said a 10.   I am very happy to refund the item and postage if I am in the wrong, I'm just not sure I am though.   Does anyone have some thoughts on what I should do? My highest bidder wrote to me immediately after the auction to say that they wanted to collect the item and pay for it on a Saturday. I do not offer personal collection at my home, only payment via paypal.   I wrote back straight away to inform them that this is my preference, as stated in my ad, but that I could have them collect the item on either Saturday or Sunday within specific timeframes.   It is now 6 days later and I have had no response from them. I have sent 2 more emails, stating the deadline for payment for the item. Assuming they do dot pay or respond by the deadline, is it them ok for me to disregard them and go to second chance offer?   This is the first time someone has provided no communication re their purchase so I am unable to understand the issue. ... Hi all... 🙂 I'm hoping someone can clear up a question I have about re-listing items? If I go through each item individually on the "Unsold Items" page and re-list them, it costs me nothing. But if I select them all at once on the "Unsold Items" page and click on re-list, an invoice of charges appears... Any ideas why this would be? I'd appreciate any help you can offer. Thanks!! 🙂 ... For some reason I no longer seem to be receiving messages when buyers complete checkout and are paying via bank deposit. I sused to get an email I will be sending payment and would like my item posted to or something like that. Most buyers use paypal but a few still deposit.
