Account suspended and listings ended due to Managed Payments

I have been having problems registering for managed payments, and even though I have contacted eBay numerous times about it, and have now uploaded all the required documents, they have now suspended my account and ended all my listings!

 

I first tried to register for managed payments at the beginning of March, but the link provided to upload did not work.  I replied to the email a number of times asking for a working link with no response, then phoned to tell them.  I was told my call would be noted and that because of that my account would be fine.

 

Jump to April 27, I received an email asking for all the information again and giving me until June 11 to have it done.  I did all of it straight away and received a confirmation email on April 28 that they had received it all.

 

April 29, my account is suspended and all my (200+) listings have been ended. Even though I had been given until June 11 to have it all done.

 

Ebay tells me through chat that it will now take 48 business hours to fix this problem.  What happens to my loss of sales during this time? And also my loss of sales due to the fact that all my sales history has now disappeared?

 

I see from other posts that I am not the only one having problems with this. eBay causes all these problems but will only fix it on their own terms and we as sellers are the ones who suffer.

Thanks, I have listed one item and have added that option.

 

I did get a pop up that eBay does not allow 'cash on delivery' any more, but it also gave me the option to continue, which I did.

 

I will see if that one is still up in 12 hours.... it took that long for the last relisted items to be removed again.

 

The other problem I have, is that because of the way they have been ended, when I relist it is allocating them a new item number.  So that means that all my previous number of items sold has disappeared as well as all my watchers.  I have sold over 1,000 of some of my items, and that goes to credibility IMO.

Thanks for coming back and letting us know.  By doing so you may also be helping others with the same issue.

 

I understand the loss of watchers and selling history on an item, that does affect sales.  If things get back on track you might be able to see if those ‘ended’ listings can be reinstated along with watchers and selling history.

That is my main aim here, to let other sellers know what is happening, and as a warning to those who have not yet completed their managed payments application.

 

I will keep updating until I have some resolution here.

Relist your best sellers first obviously.  Consider shrinking your listings to make them mobile friendly and use the mobile tool to display the preview.  According to eBay 3/5 purchases are on handsets !

Well it took 16 days, but they have finally lifted the suspension and allowed us to trade again. 

They don’t seem to care that we weren’t able to trade for all this time, and don’t want to hear about our loss of income etc.

 


Just have to move forward from here and hope that airing our problems here might just help someone else.

This is a post from the fb group - there is an organisation called Professional Ebay Sellers Alliance (PeSA) that is approaching ebay on behalf of sellers over this very issue.  I think you would be welcome to contact them:

 

PeSA Australia has setup a form on our website at Pesa Australia where you can report any issues you're experiencing in registering for Managed Payments. All submissions via this form will be forwarded directly to eBay managed in Sydney and will be reviewed and resolved as quickly as possible. eBay may require additional documentation or verification from you.

When you go to edit a listing, in the right hand corner of the description there is a link 'Mobile checking tool',  every time I change text I use it to see how it looks on a handset screen.  Subsequently I am removing as many superfluous words as possible to make the paragraphs shorter to read.  Big blocks of text are a turn off.  Short and sweet is paying off.

 

Today we got the green light for 'Mangled Payments' come May 24.  Hold on to your seats folks, we are in for a rough ride !
