cathy you have options , buy your stamps were you are going to send or go to another postoffice or whatever.
to dg i dont know what to say , its sometimes hard to please everybody sellers or buyers , no diference in any business,
no diference than utilitys, if you dont like your phone company ,go somewere else ,if you dont like the pay tv policys ,dont join.
if i am looking for a shop and the deal does not suit me , i walk away, things change sometimes for what ever reason.
if ebay say no clothes are to be sold on there site , well thats there right, we are all diferent look theres this bloke i have had a few love niggles with that sells knifes not your bread and butter types , now if i was ebay i would have them banned no ofence to the seller just my opinion ,but ebay allows it ,

Joe, how many times have I seen you post his comment, use another service or try another PO.
Please get this through your head, MANY SELLERS DO NOT HAVE THE LUXURY OF THOSE OPTIONS!
I used to be one of those, I lived in a small village of 360 people (over half of whom are related to me), the "big town" was over an hour away. The village had a small privately run PO, a general store and a pub. There were no other options but Auspost, couriers did not pick up from or deliver to our village, and as I worked full time in the village, driving to town each day to pick up or send off parcels was impossible. I only just had enough time after work to get to our little PO, and they closed for lunch.
Lots of people are in similar situations and cannot use couriers or change POs, so please understand that your "one size fits all" attitude is both flawed and frustrating.

I would presume so,(plus Express postage as well maybe?).
There is no way I could use it,(so I've never looked into it),

try to tell sellers to send tracking details as soon as posible
.
Thats not enough, I upload tracking details as soon as packed. but unless it is recorded handed to post office/courier it means nothing. If its posted in the post box outside your front door doesn't count.
Same day shipping will mean a trip to AP(or pick up) EVERYDAY. Even then it means item may have to wait until next days trip.
If someone in same city buys something from me before 6pm they are most likely to receive it next day. If i have to go to AP it may be once or twice a week (with 30-40 parcels..ugh). Handling would have to be quoted as 5 days, it could take them a week to recieve it..How can you explain that to them? Interstate 2 weeks.
AP are going to be miffed when all these Ebay sellers are bringing in barrow loads of parcels. When they thought they had steamlined the process.
Perhaps AP may want to lean on Ebay about this as it is going to make their work harder

They're more likely to answer "no" if it was slower in comparison to previous deliveries (which it will be, because of AP's changes).
How many will still tick no based on perception rather than fact, bearing in mind they often leave fb way later

Precisely.
Also, does this apply to international transactions? Because we all know how unpredictable customs can be.
To be honest, I think the "item not as described" should count, rather than postage time . . . look at it from the buyer's point-of-view. If I order a porcelain tea set and get a plastic Peppa Pig tea set, and mark the seller down, it sucks to think that it won't affect their defects at all (I realise that I could still open a INAD in such a situation, but that isn't the point).

I wonder if the new defect changes mean most defects will be wiped when it comes into effect? or do they remain until they expire?

Out of the last 25 items I have posted, only 1 has arrived within the estimated time frame despite being posted the same day as payment or next day. Not looking forward to this change!

Totally agree. Just had 2 parcels "mis sorted" one went to Sth Aust (posting was from Vic to Vic), the other Vic to Tas and was sent to Nunawading Vic and then redirected. Delays like this reflect badly on me. The Tassie item was "due for delivery on Friday so this will now arrive late in the buyers eyes!
