It has been nearly 4 weeks since Ebay removed all my auctions and gave literally no reason.
After numerous calls and emails I was informed that my account selling was blocked due to my account being hacked by someone 13 years ago!!!!.(which I don't ever recall happening). I kid you not. This is their reasoning.
Why should that mean I can't sell? No idea. They won't give a response other than to say they have sent a request through to another 'department' to do something.
Meanwhile, they still charge me fees...lol

Then I reminded myself that I usually make at least 1000% profit on my other items (yes, that is one thousand, not a typo), so I've probably more than covered the fees I'll have to pay. Yeah, well and truly. Still, it was a perception thing!
Hi Tippy, Remember the 99c Auction starts, the good old days apparently, that were destined to make us all rich beyond our wildest dreams. Now there were some losses!!. Still kick myself for selling items 99c with free postage.

"where the **bleep** is the ACCC on all this?; alseep at the wheel .. clearly it is only the tip of a nasty iceberg sure to crash our economy and destroy our way of life ultimately designed to send our descendants to economic slavery (or worse) ..
WOW, just WOW, that's a real mouthful to try to digest. I think some-one has been watching too many conspiratorial sci fi shows."

Actually I was pulling punches as know people don't want their bubbles busted, I call your kind of blindness "crippling positivity" chameleon .. the evidence is staring us all in the face .. at the very least the ACCC is complicit if not a co-conspirator to the American Chamber of Commerce and there continuous attack and Uberising of our economy .. am glad it works for someone Chameleon but for the majority of the Australian population is nothing but a curse as the Septics come here, infiltrate our business landscape, stample all over our economy and manipulate us towards economic slavery ..
As for gutterpunkz I would suggest you also put a calculation into your spreadsheet showing your time in motion in dollars per hour on your profit on turnover .. your sellthrough of 3% of inventory per month makes me question why anyone would bother with it and doesn't look like you have much wriggle room for "suck it up" costs unless you get all that stock for free (like Chameleon .. scoff) ..
anyway obviously us "dumb aussies" (sitting ducks) are satisfied with crumbs from the table of the Uber rich multi national exploiters here to rip us a new one .. I am certainly not drinking the Kool-Aid or going to delude myself with crippling positivity ..

Sounds like Ebay is just not the platform for you
.
Education is what you get from reading the small print. Experience is what you get from not reading it.

"Sounds like Ebay is just not the platform for you"
I and many many others would gladly use an effective Australian ecommerce platform but none available .. you can thank the ACCC for this abberation as the ACCC blocked a merger attempt by OZtion (or quicksales) and the Trading Post that was being set up to compete against ebay plus a few other things which would no doubt fall on deaf ears if I even try to explain it here to the ebay fanclub ..
I would dump this place in a heartbeat if there was anything close to viable alternative to it .. facebook is like a madmans carp and so is Gumtree .. obviously deliberately that way to make them barely useable and more about clickbait and google ads then helping people to sell anything .. so they are a joke .. very upset with ebay's diluted core product and overpriced overbearing policies at ebay (eg fees on postage!!) and now sellers getting their accounts closed for spurious reasons .. it is the end of ecommerce opportunity for Australian sellers as far as I am concerned .. a race to the bottom from here and a case of diminishing returns for increasing effort/costs ..

I have always listed with 99c with free postage and still do and making a profit, just depends on what you're selling and if buyers want it,in my case buyers definately want it.

I must admit I had a little think about your " way out there " statement ( highlighted in red above ) after your last post and sort of get what you are trying to say. The global financial and business system is being heavily manipulated by large multinational businesses, but I doubt that ebay has much to do with it. They are just too small a fish in a big pond to have much influence on a global scale. It is more the large financial institutions, hedge funds and international banks who are pulling the strings.
We saw some of this shenanigans exposed in the Global Financial crisis a decade ago. If we see another crash as you predict ( and you may very well be right about that bit ) I will simply do the same thing I did last financial crisis. I basically stepped away from all of my other work commitments ( including ebay ) as much as possible and concentrated my time and efforts into share trading. In such a volatile market with panic selling rampant it was a share traders dream with swings of 10%-20% daily on some stocks.
I made more profit in six months of share trading through the crisis ( my accountants figures, not mine ) than my total ebay sales in my best 12 month period ever. Admittedly I had a little scheme of my own going based on an anomaly in the panic driven market, but I suspect if the global financial system melts down again, this anomaly will again become prevalent.
Happy to explain it if anyone is genuinely interested, as it will almost certainly work just as well next time. As it was my own little scheme and not a standard practice it has not been reported about in the media or on other proffesional traders radar.

I won't bother responding the couple of Ebay proxies who apparently have no issues with Ebay breaking Australian laws by trying to steal money. People should stand up to theft or everyone gets taken.
For those posting actual responses, everything I previously stated about this is 100% factual No little bits left off etc. Ebay refunded the amount so clearly knew they were in the wrong.
Anyway, after speaking with a 'supervisor' who stated (after reading the reason listed on my account) that my selling was stopped due to an 'excessive number of returns' (yes, they changed the reason again!) she then went on to check my account and found that is utterly false. In one year there has been the previously mentioned fraudulent return and one customer 6 months ago who changed their mind and was refunded by me. They left a positive feedback I should add.
I have a 100% feedback and all my rankings are in the power seller range as they have been for years.
This supervisor said my account should not have restrictions and supposedly emailed the department in charge to personally have it removed.
Well, low and behold, within 10 mins of the call ending I get an unsigned email from Ebay saying my selling has now been permanently restricted and they refuse to provide a reason saying only "your account was originally restricted because it was in violation of eBay policy and your behavior posed a risk to the eBay community. We have taken this action out of concern for the safety and integrity of the eBay Community".
A 100% feedback seller with a power seller status is now a risk to Ebay ? LOL
Lucky for me I record all phone conversations with Ebay, take screen shots etc.

Did you use the "have us call you" option ? That way you'll get a better informed CS rep, if you did use that option then get them to call you back again and speak to another supervisor, explaining what was said to you by the first supervisor.

G'day Padi, the same thing happened to me all those years ago,one CS rep said the exact same thing and then I got the same response from ebay as OP.
I can't believe this **bleep** is still happening to decent sellers.
