So, I've been a seller for about eighteen months now and generally content with things so this is my first whinge. From this morning Ebay appears to have changed search results so that there is no seller identity or location available on the first page of results - as a customer I really hate not having that information available immediately. As a seller I also hate the fact that price promotions no longer show in the first page of results so that customers will not know that a seller is running a promotion unless they click on the specific item. Anyone else feel likewise?

If I saw 91.6% positive, I would run for the hills
Then again, I would rather actually look at the feedback to see what other real life buyer's opinions were
Rather than go off eBay's opinion and just support anyone
Rather like I don't buy something in a supermarket without looking at the best before/use by date just because there is a sign saying 'fresh today'
I care about what I buy and who from

Yes and so would I as we're experienced.
I think a lot of new buyers don't understand the feedback system, see that kind of rubbish which is written by ebay and think it's fine to buy from that seller because they're "one of ebay's most reputable sellers"
Yes, they may get their money back through the MBG but many will never return to ebay.

So far this change hasn’t fallen upon my browser / device. It seems appalling; when I search for an item, the seller makes a significant difference to my purchase choice. Importantly, some sellers describe items scrupulously… some sellers are ones from whom I’ve purchased previously (and happily)… I also choose to buy from Australian sellers for many types of thing, and I choose to avoid some types of seller.
Anything that decreases my ability to be aware of such factors directly impacts my ability to choose items that have added value to me.

In fact it makes the sellers Feedback stand out even more, it may stop people from buying from bad sellers, although don't like our chances of that
There might be more buyer scrutiny if instead of "Buy with confidence", they had 'Buy with caution' above the low feedback sellers.😁
I think people are missing the meaning of the Buy with confidence. You can because there is the Ebay MBG. But most people don't understand it, or read it, and play with dodgy sellers instead of invoking the MBG. Self imposed pain in my opinion
I think you're right, most casual buyers don't really get it.
As I said, to ebay it just means, doesn't matter what the seller is like, if things go south, you can just apply for your money back. But ebay has a habit of also popping in things such as Casey listed & I think buyers take it as an endorsement.
I'd hazard a guess a lot of buyers don't even check out feedback.
Maybe ebay should change it to 'Shop with confidence. Get your item or get your money back from ebay'.
Or just 'proceed with caution', I like that one better.😂

This new search result layout is terrible by design and a good showcase of en**bleep**ification.
I no longer have useful information at a glance, such as item location, the seller's name, or if any discounts are being applied. I used to be able to easily identify seller's that I see often within my search terms and straight away know who I'm buying from without even needing to click on the listing.
The location information and seller discounts being omitted is another big flaw.
As someone that buys a lot of stuff on here, and has been a member since the early 2000s's, I find myself visiting less due to the changes.

As I've said in other threads mine has reverted to the original layout.
I'm using Firefox with WIN 10.

Well, I'm not going to know what you've said in other threads if I haven't visited them...
But, at least yours has reverted. Mine has been stuck with this poor redesign for the past few weeks. Regardless of the browser or device, if I'm logged in, or a incognito/private session with no cookies etc.

You're lucky then.
This id still has the terrible new look, even though I gave my opinion through the feedback button at the side of the page - using Edge with Win 11.
Another id hasn't changed .... yet .... - using Chrome with Win 11.
It's terrible, almost unusable.

Maybe try clearing cache and cookies and rebooting your computer ?

Already done. No change unfortunately.
