False Alarm re: stealing

After 6 messaged from eBay I was finally able to get them to understand the situation and actually look into it.

From my end it looked like the buyer was refunded

The email from eBay told me it was cancelled (that I had cancelled an order)

This is what I have just received from eBay:

Hi Donna,

Thanks for getting back to us regarding your transaction with buyer xxxxxx. I'm more than happy to investigate this concern and clarify the matter.

I read your communication with the buyer and I can confirm that the buyer asked first if he can pick up the item and if not, to cancel the sale. You've responded that you cancelled the sale since pick up is not an option and then the buyer informed you that he paid and will continue the sale.

Since the cancellation request was left open and was not closed after 10 days, due to the new cancellation workflow, the cancellation request was closed by the system. I can confirm that we've credited you the final value fee for this sale.

However, I checked the Paypal transaction for this sale and there's no refund given to the buyer and no amount was taken on your Paypal account for this sale. You can verify this by checking your paypal account. Here's the Paypal transaction ID for this sale that we can see, xxxxxx. There's no refund sent or the payment was not reversed

For us to look further into this concern, can you provide to us the refund Paypal transaction ID that you can see on your end.

Thank you for choosing eBay and always keep safe.

Kind regards,

Well if the buyer paid, it wasn't through Paypal, otherwise it'd have shown up.

It did not show up after a cancellation was closed  - even though payment was made, that is one of the issues that was discussed.

Re: False Alarm re: stealing

Thanks for letting us know Donna. I thought the system would somehow pick up that the buyer had paid after the cancellation request was opened so it is good to know that the system does work.

Donna, if your buyer had paid and been refunded, your payment icon would have been illuminated and had a reverse arrow through it to indicate that it had indeed been refunded (see my cancellation below). The fact that yours is greyed out indicates that your buyer never paid in the first place, regardless of what he may have told you.

Re: False Alarm re: stealing

The buyer paid CQ - details are/were another thread.

The information available at Donna's end were misleading.
