I wanted to put up a new item but message came up I must register to managed payments. So I go to the link where it says "express interest". I fill out the form but skip the "Why are you interested in managed payments?" because I am not interested in it. Off course it won't let me continue. So I feel I'm being forced to voluntarily sign up for something I don't want. When I dig deeper, I find they also want driver's licence and who knows what other persona information which in no way I will submit to some private company online.
The question I have is it even legal to force people this way or simply deny their service?
I've been with ebay since the start but this will probably be the end of it. What are your thoughts

I certainly didn't see Digi's responses to your post as "a jumble", as always she gave pertinent advice. Your inability/refusal to address other member's questions/comments when they don't adhere to your beliefs does raise a few eyebrows though.

PayPal asked for my DL after I had sold a certain $ worth of items. The email I got from them said it was a federal government requirement to stamp out money laundering.
I notice you have feedback for selling some items, but probably not enough to require identity documentation be provided to PayPal.

Ebay still do and will continue to accept paypal payments from buyers. I think the issue many have is they won't get paid into paypal anymore directly. But it is not hard to link the account ebay pays you to paypal so you can continue to use paypal.
I have read a few complain that managed payments is not instant payment to you but if anyone has worked for someone or gets government payments than 2 weeks is the norm for getting paid. To complain about waiting 3 -4 days is bizarre when it is nothing compared to most everyone else.
