Item sold, buyer happy and posted positive comment. Registered buyer and seller since 2012. EBay taken payment of fees immediately. Payment still in hold. No excuse for this. And sadly there is nothing one can do. You are at the mercy of eBay. It has soured the whole transaction sadly. I guess the message here is ‘be prepared’

Do you understand that turning two narcissists into human beings, is literally the most complex task in human history? in other words, I know what I'm writing, although I understand it' depicted too accurately.
You guys / eBay know my identity, address etc... I'm pretty sure that the funds could've been released (like all my other items), given I paid a fee for a service you provided.
'BUT sz_1984, the T's and C's that YOU agreed to that weren't applied to previous items', I know guys, hence my initial post.
Someone has being on some strange stuff tonight

What part of eBay do not read here are you finding it hard to grasp?
They do not. Not for you or any other member
Other members do know know your identity or any other personal information
You agreed to their rules and polices
You are not going to special treatment or attention
Although you obviously think you getting it
Either you just think you are being funny or you really do think you are special

I understand it's extremely frustrating for you, however I was just going by your terms and conditions where it first mentions 'While proceeds from your sales typically become available within 2 days of confirming the buyer's payment, a transaction hold may be placed on funds while we ensure a successful transaction', I've put the meaning of 'typically' below to cause you more electronic frustration.

You wrote this in response to sandypebbles.
I'd just like to point out that they aren't sandy's terms & conditions. They are ebay's.
This is just a public messageboard, no one from ebay reads here or not in their work hours anyway, why would they unless they were being paid for it?
The 30 day hold frustrates a lot of new or irregular sellers but it's not as if you won't get your money eventually, if you're signed up to managed payments.
Ebay doesn't want to lose money, that's the bottom line. With infrequent sellers, they are afraid that if the seller gets the money immediately and later something goes wrong (and even after positive feedback, you could get a buyer who soon after strikes a problem) that the seller will disappear with the money and ebay will be left to do a refund or whatever.
Sure, ebay may know your address but the legal hassles in chasing funds makes it not worth it most times, hence the 30 day hold. But you will get your money, so don't fret too much.

@sz_1984 wrote:Odd that it's 30 days as opposed to 29, 28, 21, 14, 7, 19, or even 5 days. Weird.
Not odd at all. Buyers get about 30 days after an item arrives in which to open an ebay claim if they feel something wasn't right with their purchase-either it didn't arrive within that time or was faulty etc
After that, the buyer can't claim on ebay's money back guarantee.
30 days. Coincidence? I think not. They release the funds once they feel the sale is final with no comebacks.

Apparently we all work for eBay
Despite it being said more times than you can poke a stick at that this is a member to member forum which eBay neither read nor respond to
All the comments since have been 'our policy' 'we're holding the funds' 'we' know their address ' 'our colleagues' etc etc etc
Oh, and of course I am also apparently 'gathering information'
As if their completed listings and feedback etc is'nt on public display to every Tom, D and Harry
I am now fully convinced they are just simply amusing themselves
Nobody is genuinely that 'unaware'

I think the 1984 says it all. lol
Thank you Eric Arthur Blair.

Again, I sense the frustration, however I didn't create these T's and C's. I think I was just confused by the inconsistency around them, example it says 'proceeds from your sales typically become available within 2 days of confirming the buyer's payment', then below it mentions the 30 days etc, then the fact that 30 days was never the case with any items I sold previously, that's all.

No inconsistancies - as a sometime seller - the funds will be held for up to 30 days - sooner if no problems arise with the sales.
If you sell on a regular basis - the first will be held until there are no issues - from then payment will appear on your choice of regularity thereafter.
Simples.

Sometimes you have to read past the first line, it makes life so much easier.
The holds apply to you.
Just to add, there is also a section relating to reserves, you might like to read.
