Item sold, buyer happy and posted positive comment. Registered buyer and seller since 2012. EBay taken payment of fees immediately. Payment still in hold. No excuse for this. And sadly there is nothing one can do. You are at the mercy of eBay. It has soured the whole transaction sadly. I guess the message here is ‘be prepared’

It is what you agreed to when listing the item
Same rules for all sellers
You do not get special treatment because you registered in 2012
Yes, there is something one can do
That is really, actually read what you ticked you read and agreed to
Hopefully you have registered for Managed Payments and been verified/given the go ahead to start selling
Otherwise the money has nowhere to go
And no, I do not work for eBay
I registered in 2005 and would be subject to the same hold on funds next time I sell again

All infrequent sellers are subject to payment holds.
You can go to "Help " on any eBay page & read about Payment Holds.

Yep, If you had read and understood the terms of listing and managed payments, then you would have been fully aware that as a new/infrequent seller, your funds would be held for 30 days, with a % possibly held for 60 days.
If you contact ebay CS and politely ask for your funds to be released early, you may be lucky, but it is solely at ebays discretion.

Thank you stawks... I am aware of that.
I thought the OP could do their own legwork.

Sure, but if they could do their own legwork, they wouldn't be coming here.
I like to make sure they have no excuses.
Sorry, I should have addressed the link to the OP.

OP, are you actually registered as a new seller? As in, are you fully verified with both your photo ID and your bank account?
See https://www.ebay.com.au/help/selling/getting-paid/registering-seller?id=4792 for all of the details.

Unfortunately I'm having this issue now where my funds are being illegally held for 1 - 2 months, *after* paying the $246 seller fee and completing the transaction. Received perfect feedback, it's under eBay's payment management system which I have used on a number of occasions (items higher value than this one), where the funds were released within 3 days (PayPal prior to that). When I raised the possibility about them illegally laundering my money (based on the feedback I received from Wednesday last week until now) which led me to believe that, they swept it under the rug faster than a house fly. It's just annoying that someone sat there and said 'I know, let's use HIS money to launder' lol.
Personally, I don't think I'll be getting the money for this item so I'll be going to York Street, or George Street, whichever is their head office, at some point.

Good luck going to York/George Street.
Your answer lies in the link which I already gave -
