Paypal payments pending / on hold :/

Hi, as of yesterday paypal are now placing payments to me 'on hold' due to 'higher than usual risk'. Not sure if it was my increased selling volume lately or the fact I sold a Samsung Phone, but the next payment after that for a computer part was also held. The emails hint that it will be 7 days, yet after logging in it seems the release date is 21 days away!

I assume everything from now on until some arbitrary time when they 'trust' me again will be held, which is going to cause massive cashflow issues for me as this time next week I'll have probably another $800 on top of the $500 I was paid last night. If anything, I don't want to take the risk of selling any more now as who knows if their coinflip will determine that I'm entitled to my own money? Do I keep pumping thousands of dollars into a void hoping for the best?

Will calling paypal achieve anything? I've been using paypal for probably almost 10 years on the same account and not sure there is any of my ID that they don't already have on file.

Re: Paypal payments pending / on hold :/

Firstly if i may address an issue you have with a npb, to answer that i would simply ask...

Did you do a dispute against the npb?

Secondly, i think some members have misinformation about payment holds.

Members have said "you have to sell for 90 days and have 50 positive feedback".

Well not exactly what i wrote, but im shure you understand the context.

You do not have to score 50 positive feedback, and your last successful sale can not be longer than 90 days ago.

All of the points you must adhere to can be researched on paypals site and ebays minimum selling requirements.

Mmmmmm

Mmmmmm yes you do when you're a newbie-new seller.

The 90 days is how long you do have to sell for to get rid of the 21 day hold and not have your money on hold anymore.

You  will receive your money for every transaction after 21 days.

And yes you do need to build up a feedback score of 50 positive.

All sellers are classed as new sellers even if you have sold in the past.

I contacted PayPal about this issue a while ago and the statements I'm making are out of a PayPal CS own mouth.

Re: Paypal payments pending / on hold :/

Seems it is only 25 transactions now:

"Payment holds for new sellers

If you're a new seller who hasn't established a selling record yet, we might put payments from your buyers on hold. Generally, the funds will be available either:

  • Seven days after the estimated delivery date, or
  • Three days after confirmed delivery

If the buyer reports a problem with the transaction, we'll place another hold until the issue has been resolved.

You'll become an established seller after:

  • It's been more than 90 days since your first successful sale
  • You've
  • had more than 25 transactions and $250 in sales"

    Cheers

Re: Paypal payments pending / on hold :/

Feedback of 50 is not required.

The requirements for release from the 21-hold program are:

It's been more than 90 days since your first successful sale and
You've had more than 25 sales transactions and
You've had more than $250 in total sales and
Your seller performance rating is "standard" or above.

That's from Paypal CS, and the basis on which they released all my held payments on 19 April.

It's also detailed by ebay, here

Good looks like they have halved the amount of sales but they still have the 90 days rubbish.

Re: Paypal payments pending / on hold :/

That's still not good enough though because new sellers require all the money they make to be released immediately.

I have argued this with PayPal until the cows haven't come home lol.

Ebay are the culprits in all of this as they tell PayPal to do this.

Just say you're a business and you've put all your money into starting up and then when you sell you get told hey by the way you're not getting any money for 21 days, just not right.

Did you do your own research before posting as i strongy hinted at the end of my post, or did you just follow suite and accept what others have said to be correct?

My advice to anyone is do your own research and obtain the actual facts yourself, just because someone wrote it in a comment or other context does not make it fact.

You can set that in paint....mmmm

I was correct about my statement lol at the time seriously.

But at this moment the rules have changed as pointed out by some members but some are the same.

My point exactly, you took the word of someone you had trust in for a fact.

Thats information via a third party that you did not check for youself to see if it was correct, you assume it was correct because you were told.

Im not having a shot at you nor do wish anyonw to think im argueing with you.

Ps: im not who you think i am or am i?? Maybe its my spellin has made you think that? Maybe its deliberately done, maybe not, who knows.
