Setting International postage

I have just opened a new eBay account. I created a template for CDs and selected International postage - calculated: cost varies based on buyer location. I have already scheduled listings for 31st December before doing this. When I edited one listing I found that no matter how many times I selected the above International Postage option it was not saved after I clicked on Save, which suggests that it is not available outside Australia. Am I missing a step? The steps involved have changed since I opened my original account.

Further to the above, I find that when I edit an existing template to show International postage - calculated: cost varies based on buyer location then save the edited template the international postage does not show up on the template.

I have spent several hours trying to solve the above problem without success. I am going to close the account and stick to my old one.

Setting International postage

To continue... I have just discovered that none of my hundreds of listings on my old account make any reference to overseas shipping. They all show shipping costs within Australia. My templates have also changed. For years they let me specify the International shipping policy "Calculated: cost varies based on buyer location" but now there is no International Postage section. I now don't know whether my hundreds of listings are available overseas or limited to buyers within Australia.

Can anyone help?

I don't know why you are seeing what you are seeing (I did try Google to see if there had been any reported updates/glitches etc but could not find anything

Then again, eBay are changing everything every five seconds

I had a look at a random few of your listings and they showed under postage for me while both logged in and not logged in

I don't know if this is your selling account, but for years low or no feedback sellers were blocked from selling overseas. Maybe you have hit that block?

I would ask myself why I want to sell overseas. The chances of problems are far more than selling domestically, and the nett return is likely to be less.

No, that's not it. 99% of my feedback is very positive. I have only 1 Neutral. I sell a lot overseas and rarely encounter a problem. I  haven't found that nett return is less.

Hi there, logged on to ebay US as a guest and searched for items sold by you, got 91 results, look like all CDs, ( did not check all)  Anyway was showing international post to US, (after I changed delivery address)  @  AU$21.75.

Which I am pretty sure is the minimal parcel rate  AU - US

Now to make sure settings have not changed in my account.

So you are mc?

If so, you know the ins and outs of International selling. If not, how is your response relevant to my reply to mc?

Please get your IDs in line and post consistently with them, not all 3 in one thread.

It is relevant simply because my experience in selling overseas demonstrate that your assertions as to problems selling overses and the profitabilty of doing so are not necessarily true. Other viewers of this thread need to be aware of that fact.
