Power Seller status, thanks to its initial purpose, is generally portrayed as a reward; it's not (not in the typical sense, anyway).
It's the end of the 'free trial period', just like many other services people use for free...except, unlike the way it works just about everywhere except eBay, the customer (that is the person using the service) is in complete control over if/when that trial period ends, and even if it does, can actually use a different 'membership' to continue to take advantage of the benefits.

Create a new ID and sell from there.
When the PS status drops of go back to the other one and alternate between the 2.

if the best advice people can give or the best ebay can offer as a bonus for being a power seller is start another i.d .
that does not say much about the powerseller programme or ebay does it?
could you imagine if where you work instead of a pay increase for going up the scale.your boss told you to change your name and you might get some bonuses?
Or if you own a business (bricks and mortar)and in order to get a slighty better deal of your wholesaler because you sold more you where to to change your business name .you may get a little off youre stuff.
There would be people revolting in the streets!
So please all you people spare me the junk about how good it is. then go out and change your names and you might make more money lol

If a seller here has done well enough to achieve PS or TRS, then it is time they start paying their way IMO. You can't have it both ways. If you are selling enough to get to PS the rules change a bit as they should. Your business is obviously expanding as you have met and surpassed the 'sold' amount required, so it is just like a B&M that is expanding, the B&M would not move to a bigger store and expect to pay less rent. Sorry, you should be pleased you are doing well when so many others are not. JMO
You can't please all the people all the time, so now I just please myself

You obviously didn't see my point.
eBay give their members the opportunity to perpetually take advantage of their service for free, likening it to the job situation is pretty off-base IMO. They've put a cut-off point for individual IDs, which is no different than anywhere else that gives you free stuff for a limited time...except it's an unlimited offer in two different ways 1. keep below PS status, always have 30 free listings. 2. have more than one ID and keep all of them below PS status and have 60, 90, 120.... free listings. What is there in that to really complain about?
Once upon a time, everyone had to pay for the service, Power Seller, Top Rated seller or no... no one got free listings except every now and then, but you usually had to list as a 99c auction to qualify.
Now everyone can use free listings, up to a point.
