We dispatch all packages via Australia Post with tracking. However, due to occasional scanning errors by Australia Post, some tracking numbers appear invalid. Despite customers confirming receipt of these packages, eBay unjustly withholds funds, citing lack of valid tracking. This practice is detrimental to small businesses, especially during challenging times, as eBay's actions are financially constraining. Attempts to contact eBay have yielded no response, prompting consideration of a class action lawsuit.

This issue has been a topic of discussion among eBay sellers, with some considering legal action due to perceived unfair holding of funds.

Personally, I've never had a scanning error with AP. Over 3000, so statistically relevant. Nor I have had funds held due to falling below relevant metrics.

Class action yourself to death, noting that eBay specifically prohibit petitions.

ebay rarely reads the member to member forum (your shouting eBay community is simply shouting at other members and not going to attract the attention of eBay staff , nor would they care about your threats if they did

I've never had a scanning error with Australia Post. I would look into why that is happening if I were you.  Do you print your own labels?  I do, and never a problem. Mine are always "signature on delivery" so I don't know if that would make a difference.

I have learned to first register a tracking number on MyPost account BEFORE entering into Ebay. Best to sort out possible typos before entering a number on Ebay. Once they have a number not easy to get them to change it.

I very much doubt your problem is to do with APO's scanning. I've never had a problem with them.

The only time I have ever had an error with an AP tracking number, the error was mine.  Incorrectly entered the tracking number for a tracked letter, all my parcel tracking numbers are auto uploaded from  AP  to ebay.

Somehow I think there is something else causing payment holds, rather than a couple of tracking errors, as my payments will be cleared even before a tracking number is uploaded.

As for calls for class actions,  come back and tell us how many have ever actually proceeded past a forum rant.

Likewise for ACCC  & AFCA,  how many forum rants have ever led to any action being taken by the relevant body, and more so, how many have actually had a positive outcome.

I have the same issue about once or twice a month, with Aust post not scanning so no tracking avail, but item has arrived (after confirming so with buyer.)

Are you scanning over the counter or just posting in the red box ?

When I was at the post office a few weeks ago they mentioned scanning issues when tape was applied over shipping labels. I have not noticed any issues but if you use tape over the label it can cause issues with missed tracking scans.
