Pity watchcount has closed at ebays request. Was excellent to check on non paying bidders to see if they were still active and buying while giving lame excuses or ignoring emails

Watchcount would not have disclosed that you work in your PJs Amber......only that you bought them....you could have given them away.

I work in a lovely 19* climate controlled environment. Plus, Mr Daiken keeps me cool when I'm home. My tax cheque paid for him about 5 years ago. I don't know how we survived our whole lives without an A/C! We used to have an evaporative cooler, which did a pretty good job, but you had to turn it on before it got warm. Once it got hot inside, it was hard to cool it down. Perfect for days off, not so good on work days. Plus the water bill was huge!
Thankfully it cools down enough of a night whereby you don't need the air con on and often it's cool enough to need a blanket on in bed. Not like those awful nights when I grew up in the city where it was still 41* at midnight, and no air con.

Not on probability.
what does the majority of clothing bought by a woman mean? Personal items. Particularly when they are routinely the same sizes.
I could go into more detail about what information is gleaned from details like this (including advertising companies) but it's easy to think through.
Linked to what I have said about myself, it's odds on I wear 'em to work too...:)
joking aside, it's what marketing companies do for a living, too. Trawl through personal details gleaned from purchasing details. eBay, rewards programs etc.

I don't mind that there was, a watchcount search, if it did not invade privacy without permission.
What I mind, is being opted-in automatically to such a search without my permission, or knowledge. A third-party riding off eBay; that, I did not choose to happen to my information.
It was sheer luck I found out about it.
When a member here posted purchases of mine after eBay removed view item from feedback.
Before that I had no idea it existed.
That type of search, should be opt-in with a person's permission. Then that would take care of any issues with helping members out.

When people come on here asking for help about a certain item or seller then it is a worthwhile tool.
If you don't like people knowing what you buy then buy under another account and don't post with it in the forum. I couldn't give too hoots what bra size you are but if you want help then expect forum contributors to what to know all the details before giving that help. This tool was good for that.

It wasn't necessary.
still isn't... the title of the item can be posted. Sir Sales has just asked for one in another thread you are participating in, and it's been left up.
Arguing on behalf of an intrusive tool when help doesn't require it...ok.
I have said this twice now. Opt-in, no problem. Automatically without permission, not on.

Harley and Lyn.
Neither of you have commented on that.
Would that be a problem?
Protect people's right to privacy.
Have watchcount openly mentioned so everyone knows about it (or a similar search site).
Then if it is actually required, opt-in/out at one's choice.
Seems reasonable to me.

So when another person comes up with the same piece of code and doesn't tell you about it what are you going to do, You are on the internet for crying out loud if you had a problem with privacy then shut down your computer.
I bet you have an email account, facebook account, twitter or other social media accounts do you carry on about them having to protect your privacy to. Don't you have to set up your or opt out of what information is available to the public. Isn't it the same as any other site????

Actually, no, I have no social media accounts.
All of which, have agreements which are in place between you, and the site. Which you can read upfront and have to AGREE to if you then sign-up.
Very different scenario.
Watchcount, never asked for permission. So NO. It is not the same as any other site.
If anyone comes up with a piece of code to trawl any other site's non-public information, that is actionable. Try that on with any retailer and it would be slammed down on day one.
Every post which addresses me, from you in this thread, says more about you then it does about me.
The only reason anyone would not see my suggestion as reasonable...would be if they wanted general access. Not specific-item access to help as required.
Which has just been proven redundant by Sir Sales, for now.

nothing has been proven redundant by anyone especially not the person mentioned. You really need to get a grip if you think everyone on here was just waiting to snoop on your buying history.
As I said you don't like it shut off your computer.
