Forgive me if this was addressed ages ago or something... but WHY? I'm not a big seller and I haven't had any reason to leave a negative for a buyer in honestly years, until recently... and I'm annoyed that I can't because I was very nearly scammed (thankfully paypal saw through the scam and closed the dispute in my favour, phew) and I just feel that other sellers ought to be warned against the buyer... but there's no way! Not even a neutral.

Yeah I am working through mine seeing where I need to improve, I have no problem with people leaving me 4 stars but I would like to know they are leaving me 4 stars and what for so I can improve. So I am getting all the 5 star ones out of the way and then I am going to do a report on all the others combined and see where they all think I need to improve on.
I wish ebay would just give us this information in the first place!!! It's sad to read comments like "Great Ebayer, fast postage AAA+++ item as described!" - only to run a report and see they only gave me 4 stars for postage time, and 4 stars for item as described, so I have worked out just reading their comments is not enough for me to be better seller! This helps a lot!

I'm still a bit miffed that the buyer gave me 2 stars for postage cost, when that was a 'free' postage item. I thought offering free postage automatically gave you 5 stars. Seems I was wrong! They gave me a really great feedback too. I've still got 5.0/5 for postage cost, but that's not the point!
I think eBay needs to make the postage thing clearer when it comes to DSR. I know that some people have been marked down because the buyer perceived it to be slow postal times. The seller posted the same or next day, but it took a long time to arrive to the buyer. I think some buyers think that 'postage time' means how long it took to arrive, not how long it took the seller to post it.
It was a time consuming exercise last night going through all those item numbers, but it was made easier by not having private listings. I just went to my feedback page and copied the listing numbers from there. It also helped having 2 tabs open. One with the report page and the other with the feedback page, so I could just jump from one to the other. A few numbers I put in didn't generate a report and all I could think of was, they didn't leave a DSR for that transaction.

Why do you have to copy all the item numbers.
On my 'report' each so called 'defect' has the item number - date - and an x for the 'defect' type.

Oh & I rang CS as I had noticed the reports were only updated once a week. So even the date showing is not exactly accurate.
Was told it was updated on Mondays - ie Goes Sunday through Monday.
I now only check on Tuesdays.

Because never have I been able to download a report from that link in the seller dashboard. Ever since my defect appeared, it has always told me that I don't have any defects for the current period. So, I had to do it the long way.

Exactly! I agree with you on the postage time rating. I am certain buyers think it is from when they purchase the item to when they get it. Instead of how long it takes the seller to post it. It could be better worded to avoid the confusion, it is something I would like Ebay to change completely or update. And I also thought the same about free postage too.
This time consuming exercise has been enlightening to say the least.

I wholeheartedly agree.
This new system makes it impossible to be honest. I sold a lens recently and the guy didn't pay till the last day of the disupted transaction , did not reply to a single email sent. This makes him a bad ebay buyer and now there is no way to mention this to warn others ... what the hell is even the point of the buyer feedback if its meaningless?
I will be using ebay less in future

very helpful
I suppose some laywers (when paid) trawl through allllll of the documentations before printing ... bring on AI to search and make us aware of this stuff.
and by the way, what I really mean to say is your reply is not helpful at all

or perhaps ebayers don't have it regularly have good transxactions most of the time and then when they do have a problem are surprised.

Instead of dragging up a 3 1/2 year old thread, I suggest you read the previous responses and you'll see why eBay disallowed negs from sellers 10 years ago, and also the tools that eBay gives you to sort out non-payers (NPB strikes and the ability for YOU to use your BBLs).
