Hi i have had a buyer that put a bid over someone else the last 20 mins to go. She wrote back to me straight away saying why would she bid on something that would not fit her. Confused with her message i asked why she wrote that when all measurements were given clearly. She then said her son must of bid on it. I wrote back saying great i had a buyer and now you dont want it.
Next day she wrote saying she has paid and can i quickly send the top so she can resell it. As it went in a large letter i got it registered for paypal protection. Its sitting in at her post office from the 10th of sept. 3 times i have written to her friendly to pick it up. Each time she said she will but today again its still not picked up. What happens if it comes back to me?? Ive had this happen on a facebook sale and the buyer just paid the postage again but i just dont trust ebays system

They are trained to respond to key words. They are not trained, or allowed, to think.

@tiggywink92 wrote:all that time and finally he gave another answer saying i would refund the item but not the postage. This site is useless i only sell a tiny bit of my things on here and the stress it gives me lol. Plus hardly anything sells not like the old days
Well at least he got that part right.....except that you can also keep an amount to cover your fees as well as the postage costs, including the amount you will be charged by the PO to send the unclaimed item back to you.
On a low priced item the buyer will not end up with much of a refund.

then he said they wont charge a fee to send it back. He has no idea what he is doing. Well the top was $15 and $9.50 postage but then paypal told me if it gets sent back i have to refund her all of it including the postage

They are assuming that the buyer is actually returning the item for some reason.....not that the buyer has not picked it up.
AP used to return items to the sender free of charge but in the last few years they have started charging to sender to get the item back.
You might be lucky and not get charged but don't hold your breath.

Aus Post sometimes apply return post charges on parcels, but never on letters.

My local PO is scrupulous about scanning items out when you pick them up, but the one in the next suburb isn't, so it all depends upon fallible hooman beans.
