No offence, but unless you have successfully cancelled bids on a listing and ended it when there is less than 12 hours to go, "looks as though" is going to remain the operative phrase.

All sellers have those options showing, sellers who have previously tried to use it but come to the forum to ask why it doesn't work is testimony to that, among other things.

I have done it many times before that's why I can say what I have said so all I can say is you and other sellers are unable too do it but I'm not sure why you can't.

Interesting.

Might have helped if you mentioned that from the start, rather than just say you were basing your answers on information from eBay and what it "looks like". o_O

Ok, so now there is two posters who can cancel bids and end listings within the last 12 hours,.

Can either one show me a listing that they were able to do this with? Have to say I'm a little curious.

Zelly - just had a quick look at your ended items and on the ones which had been ended early there had not been any bids placed so they could have been ended within the last 12 hours.

Are you able to provide an item which had bids on it within the last 12 hours, which you were then able to cancel the bids and end the listing.

No I can't provide a listing that I have ended early that had bidders because they were more than 60 days ago,but it does look like to me that you are calling me a liar.If I was lying about this then why the hell would I keep on going with this? I and others have been able to end listings at any time and you haven't or haven't tried to so lets just leave it at that.If anyone was fair dinkum about ending their listings that have bidders and are less than12hrs to go they can go ahead and do it right now or any other time they wish and those sellers who can't do this there must be a reason as to why they can't.but I'm telling you that I can.

I have been saying that from the start, and when I said that I am basing my answers from information from Ebay is that Ebay has allowed me to end my listings.

Sellers haven't been able to end listings with bids within the last 12 hours since 2004.

eBay Bars Sellers from Ending Auctions in Final Hours

October 01, 2004

eBay will change its policy on when sellers may end or change their listings. Currently eBay allows a seller to cancel bids and end an item at any time under certain conditions, such as when an item is lost or broken. They are however prevented from making changes to a listing during the final 12 hours.

Beginning next week, eBay sellers will no longer be able to end a listing in the final 12 hours, except to sell to the current high bidder. Oddly, eBay's announcement did not say what sellers should do if an item is lost, broken or unavailable for sale.

eBay said under the new policy, sellers may still cancel specific bids they find unwelcome, but may no longer utilize the "cancel all bids and end this item" feature. Sellers may still end listings during the final 12 hours if the item does not have any bids.
