I belive it is an ebay glitch across the Australian ebay pages
The lowest standard Auspost service is $9.70 up to 250gr
Buyers pay on some of my items (individually or combined) up to 250gr for $8.73 (97cents less)
$8.73 is the ebay discounted label price which offered to sellers if they want to purchase the label from eBay.
The listings and the checkout screens should show buyers $9.70
I searched on ebay and saw some sellers having the same issue..tons of listings with incorrect $8.73 postage
I belive the listings with calculated postage having this issue.

"It is about for purchasing auspost postage labels from ebay"
No doubt there'll be a huge push to buy postage labels from eBay at some stage here, as the new
"Extended "Items not received " protection policy" has been introduced November 2025 on other site/s.
It only applies if labels are purchased through eBay - other conditions apply
"Before: Seller issues a refund to close an INR case. If the parcel is delivered later, the seller will not recover their refund and it will be lost.
From November 2025: If tracking shows delivered within 30 days after a seller has refunded, eBay will reimburse the item cost and remove any negative or neutral feedback directly linked to the claim and regarding delivery"

Postage costs are still showing as being too low ๐ From one extreme to the other ๐ก

This normal and how anyone that use mypost business is charged. The difference now is ebay are now giving the buyer the discount rate.

Mypost business depends on what band you're on.
Postage costs when doing a listing is quoted by ebay as $8.36 - $10.93. They are not 'normal' AP prices of $9.70 & $11.15 etc

This is not normal and ebay is heavily undercharging postage. It should not be up to ebay how much postage buyer have to pay, but rather should depend on a business model of each individual seller. It seems to me that Ebay now wants you (seller) to charge discounted rate and to sell you postage label at the same discounted rate. But that means that you will be subsidizing postage partially because you pay fees on postage as well. 250g parcel is 9.70$ AP retail rate, but you never get 9.70$ after fees. AP business discounts allows seller to actually get shipping label for cheaper and hopefully on average match it in price with what they are getting paid by ebay after fees. Hope that makes sense.

Have you not read the ebay message sent out regarding their labels are now getting Band 2 discount. I have mentioned it a few times and if you have a label to print you will see the price is cheaper.

That's what I'd like to know. What shows on the labels. I wish someone who has actually done it would come and tell us. I don't like the idea of being a guinea pig.

I looked the other day and it showed a band 2 discount but as my measurements where too big from the listing it showed a higher price than a 250 gram parcel. When I adjusted the size down it showed the correct price which looked like they are cubing the parcel size. As I have band 4 discount I did not use the label and would have no doubt it would have gone through correctly if I had.
I like the new method of showing the postage price as many of my low priced items would be cheaper compared to those on fixed price. Also easier to factor in a profit margin knowing I wont have to allow for postage cost that varies depending on location.

I am band 4 through Australia Post, so unfortunately with eBay now charging customer only a discounted rate, all international post is now nowhere near as discounted (for seller) as it used to be ie make about $1-2 margin with the band 4 discount rather than realising the full discount we previously got. I send my domestic items that rate so that hasnโt been impacted, just the calculated international items. Has anyone come up with a good workaround for this? I thought using a rate table might work and gave a different template for 500g parcels, 1kg parcels etc But I then couldnโt see whether this charges what I have in my rate table (ie rate for UK customer would be different to NZ customer etc) or not.

As mentioned previously, Ebay are aware of the issue with international orders - it's an error and it's still not fixed, but they will credit the balance when you speak to customer service. Just have the order numbers ready, along with the postage amounts that should have been paid.
