Just adding my voice to the many that seem to have lost the zoom function on their eBay listings. It's been a problem all week. Frustrating, I have not sold anything this week which is unusual so I'm convinced this is the problem.

Worries me as technically it's not the zoom function that is missing, it's the fact that the pictures are actually only 500x500 now meaning they can't be zoomed into.

It is such thing as "573 megapixels".
Calculation:
Size = 27648 x 20736 = 573308928 pixels
Megapixels = 573 Megapixels
Aspect ratio = 1.33

There you go. A photo that size wouldn't load anyway. Too big. I thought the best cameras were around 30Mp. Yours must be super-duper to have a 20 times higher resolution than those.
My pics are around 1000 x 1700 pixels, a small fraction of the size you have calculated. They might be 1.7Mp, but the file size is about 600kB

Try to use a photo that is at least 1600 pixels on the longest side. However, we recommend you don't enlarge smaller images to make them 1600 pixels. The photos you use must be at least 500 pixels on the longest side.
You can upload photos in these file formats:
JPEG (.jpg file extension)
PNG (.png file extension)
TIFF (.tif file extension)
BMP (.bmp file extension)
GIF (.gif file extension)
If your photo is in JPEG format, it should have a quality of 90 or higher on the 0-99 JPEG quality scale. We then optimize it for display in your listing.
Listings must have at least one photo.
Only use a stock photo for a new, unused item. For all other items, upload a photo that shows its actual condition.
When using our catalog to list a used item, don't use a stock photo. Upload a photo of the item that shows its condition.
Make sure any photos imported from the web are HTTPS compliant.

PART OF MY SURVEY TO EBAY
For about two weeks the Ebay has technical problem with upload pictures(zooming & enlarging). I made number of phone calls and agents pretending that it is members issue, not Ebay technical problem. They are asking to clean browsing date, saying that your pictures are under 500 megapixel etc.
My upload pictures are over 500 megapixel.
I can't sale my items because potential customers can't see what they are buying and me as buyer I can't examine the item.
All are just lies and it is affecting the Ebay reputation.
You Ebay people just go to page "Comunity" and read hundreds of comments.
Ebay knows that all Australian listing has problem with uploading the photos. You are wasted my time asking me to do stupid things knowing that it won't help.

eBay don't read the boards in community.
When you call eBay you are not speaking with eBay staff.
You are only speaking with call centre reps in Phillipines contracted by eBay and have a script to follow.
Technical problems are beyond their control.
For reporting site issues I have found the chat with eBay more helpful as it appears these are reps in USA.
(BTW, nice watches).
