Hi All,
I appreciate any assistance anyone can give me in regards to an item not as described that I have purchased. I am continually buying and selling here on ebay and am aware of a lot of the rules and regulations that I must abide by but am at a loss as to what to do here.
Item was listed as: "All pieces still in box used. - 4 cars all in good working order". I know this isn't much of a description to go by, but I used the picture and good working condition on the cars as a guide to the price I was willing to pay.
The package however has turned up missing one of the cars in the picture, a second car in non working condition, bare and exposed wires on the controllers, and an IT Japan power supply of 24v which exceeds the safe working load of the 16v socket fitted to Scalextric.
I have contacted the seller about the above mentioned and was told the power supply is the one that came with it. No mention of any of the other issues listed in my message. I have requested a return/refund on the item but my concern is that with $40.00 postage I will be severely out of pocket to return it. I have asked that the seller arrange their courier to collect it, and that is where their correspondence with me stops. I don't believe that I should have to pay for any return postage due to the item being SNAD.
Now before anyone tells me what I already know, sellers do not have to pay for return postage, think of the cost of fuel to the shops, etc. is there any way I can "encourage" this seller to pay for, or at very least contribute to the postage as this is to be paid for the return of the item? What do I do if they aren't contacting me to supply an address for me to send it to?
I don't like negative feedback being a seller myself (it does nothing to resolve this issue anyway), and ebay don't like helping much any more it seems, so any help you can provide would be great.
Kind Regards, GCJ.
