Hello Enlightened ebayers 🙂
I purchased two thermal tops yesterday with free post in Australia, and the listing states free post at the top where postage is, then at the same time purchased another two similar ones from same seller, also free post in Australia, but this (second)purchase the seller had listed through UK ebay and it had a postage cost at the top where postage is stated. At the bottom of the listing is a ‘shipping tab’ which states free post in Australia.
items (listed through UK) had the postage cost (instead of free post), and the check-out was When I went to checkout, the first two items had the free post, but the check-out for the second two annoying in that there was no options for changing the amount of postage or the total.
payment through E-bay checkout & I messaged the seller, asking her to change check-out postage amount to free post, & she messaged me back and agreed post was free for all the purchases and gave me the total amount for the four items (seller has not sent me an invoice) and instructed me to pay the total directly into her pay pal account (outside ebay) by using her email address.
I didn’t like the idea of paying outside ebay but it’s supposed to be ok if we use the ‘pay for ebay items’ tab in pay pal, but when I tried to do that, there was a message that said ‘pay pal recommends I was diverted back to ebay check-out.
I’d rather not pay on the normal ‘send money’ tab in pay pal as that only proves I have sent an amount to a pay pal account, and doesn’t prove it was for ebay items and presumably doesn’t have the ebay buyer’s protection?
I have messaged the seller again telling her the above and asking (again) for an invoice amount for all 4 items with free post and/or to see if she can change check-out to show free post so I can pay.
Basically the seller has messed up the listing in that she has made it confusing, putting the postage cost as well as saying free post, and is not changing check-out to free post, so is it up to me to sort it out by paying the normal way in my pay pal account or should seller sort it out?
Haven’t had this situation before, so advice needed as to how to correctly proceed.
Many thanx!!
