ARE YOU ONE OF AUSTRALIA’S 10 MILLION WORKING TAXPAYERS ?
IF SO, PLEASE PAY $1,200 IN EXTRA TAXES EVERY YEAR JUST TO PAY THE INTEREST ON LABOR’S DEBT.
(Personally I would prefer the left and labor voters to pay this debt)
In 2007, when Labor came to power, the Australian Government was COLLECTING more than $1 billion a year in net interest payments on the back of a positive net asset position created by the previous Coalition Government.
Now, we are forced to pay $1 billion a month in interest payments just to service all the debt accumulated by the previous Labor government.
That is means for every one of about 10 million working taxpayers across Australia has to pay about $100 in tax each and every month, or about $1,200 in tax every year, JUST to pay the interest on Labor’s debt

There are a lot of variables, that amount is to cover his share most likely . Some couples are paid seperately too . him one week his partner the next. with a child it isn't enough anyway. at least half would go on rent.

What he is getting or what she is getting?
$460 a fn is the max, so he must be allowed to keep is payout and receive benefits......but yeah as pointed out his young family is surviving (or trying to) on much more than just $460 a fn.
Are you saying that $460 a fortnight is the maximum benefit payment for a family of three?

$460pf sounds like parenting payment (mother probably gets)
Then there'd be about $300 pf family payment.
You're right, if he got a redundancy payout he would have to wait the required number of weeks before he would be eligible for youth allowance.

Is that just for him, the baby will bring in money also and does his wife work? Even if she doesn't wouldn't she get money too. They would also have ahealthcare card, wish I had one, free dental, medicine for next to nothing.
yes I often find myself day dreaming about living it large on newstart or a pension, living under the poverty line must be so much fun.

You are right. It all depends on whether the dentist classes it as emergency but that’s not what you said in you post. That is, my response was directed to your gross over generalisation that “healthcare card, wish I had one, free dental…” which infers if you have a healthcare card all dental is free.
In this case the dentist decided it wasn’t an emergency because painkillers would provide an immediate short term solution thus allowing for a treatment plan which might have saved it, but at a cost significantly higher than the $200 to have it pulled. So, if he wanted it pulled, it couldn’t be classed as an emergency extraction, and so, he would to pay for it. So his options were, pay over $200 to have it pulled then and there, or pay even more to save it, or wait for time to take its course and it became an emergency extraction at which time it got pulled for free. But he couldn’t afford the first two, and didn’t want to wait for the latter, so he took care of it himself the old school way.
As LOL and wishing to have one (a Healthcare Care), I take it you realise that to qualify you are required to live on an income which is below the poverty line? So be careful for what you ask for. Because the way Abbott and Co are going on the job creation and retention fronts you may well find its been granted. LOL
