Re: **AUTISM / ASPERGERS SUPPORT GROUP**

Glad you got in to see the counsellor.

Back when we were wanting to know what was up with Cam, he got put on the emergency list for the School Counsellor - it took 3 1/2 months. ๐Ÿ˜

We don't bother seeing the school counsellor now, I take him to a private one.

Re: **AUTISM / ASPERGERS SUPPORT GROUP**

It took about 3 months to get in to see her.. good to know that it isnt just joes school Krazy!
Im ok Kylie, I have trouble sleepng when hubbs is at work, he has never understood it so a couple of nights ago when he had a night off I stayed at a friends house so he was home alone with the kids, slept alone, got the kids up and joe ready for school etc, all the stuff that I do (except the cleaning!!), it was a real eye opener for him.
things should start looking up for me soon, after years of refusing to take meds for depression, i started some today ๐Ÿ™‚ I hope they work and i dont have to keep trying differant ones ๐Ÿ˜

Kiwi We got the same run around you did. It was mid way through term 1 we (his teacher and us) asked to see the counsellor and he didn't get in to see her till term 4. And that was only because his teacher literally stormed into the counsellors office and demanded that she see him.

I kinda feel funny posting here :8} since our son doesn't have Autism or Aspergers but he still has a learning difficulty so I hope you don't mind if I lurk here and post occasionally.

Our master 11 had a mega meltdown after school yesterday because he was soooo stressed about getting all his homework done and I needed to take him shopping to buy a new pair of shoes. Oh we had tears and sobbing and he was shaking with stress. Poor kid. Thank God we don't do heaps of after school activities cause he would be in a constant state of meltdown if we did. ๐Ÿ˜ž

Re: **AUTISM / ASPERGERS SUPPORT GROUP**

don't get me wrong here witches - I am the homework nazi, but if an 11 year old is that stressed about getting his homework done, you need to see the teacher. He should only have a maximum of 45 minutes a night

Re: **AUTISM / ASPERGERS SUPPORT GROUP**

Thanks Doll :-x

Kylie ~ He doesn't even get 45 mins a night but because he finds it difficult and he is so tired at the end of the school day he just goes into meltdown mode. It is always a battle to get him to do homework. Also his Ritalin LA is pretty much worn off by 4pm and therefore the effort involved in sitting down to do homework is huge for him.
