It stated shipping cost was $30 on item page I lodged a case with PayPal and they sent me an email that said they looked into it and are doing nothing. I'm repeatedly experiencing varying shipping costs when listing on Ebay.  Most recently, I listed and sold an item where shipping cost was calculated based on location of buyer.  Cost of shipment to buyer was listed as 16.05, which I received into my PalPal account.  When I printed out the shipping label available from ebay, the cost was listed as 14.69.  I paid the cost via my pay pal account and affixed to the box.  I decided to take this package to the post office just to see what they would have charged if I hadn't purchased prepaid shipping from ebay.  To my surprise, the cost they quoted me was 18.01 based on same shipping weight.  When I told the clerk I need to add additional cost for this shipment because I knew I had only paid around 14.50 - 15.00, he asked me how much I had already paid on the prepaid label.  Since I couldn't remember, and the shipping label didn't have the postage on it, he said there is no way for them to know how much I've already paid.  Is the USPS truly unable to scan my package, and confirm how much I have already paid?  If so, what is stopping any of us from paying 1 or 2 dollars on a prepaid shipping label from ebay, and sending the package cross country if the post office has no way of knowing?  I paid an additional 5 dollars for the descrepency of the shipping cost because I didn't want the buyer to pay for COD.  What am I doing wrong?  Why isn't the cost of shipping consistent throughout the ebay process?  Would the buyer be held responsible for the extra shipping costs even though prepaid postage from ebay was much less?  I'm afraid now the buyer will receive the package, with a 5 dollar postage sticker on the box next to mine and assume it was only 5 bucks to ship this item.   Yes, I'm frustrated...can you all tell?  Any help or clarification would be greatly appreciated.       ... They just said to purchase the 2 items and they would only bill me for the one postage coast of $39.95 - which I felt was excessive anyway!  I have paid 2 x $39.95. $39.95 for each pair of sunglasses - which were posted individually.   Both items were purchased at the same time and the request for both items and combined postage sent.  I have already requested twice that a refund of $39.95 be given to me. I have had no reply from them at all.   The belwo email was sent 2 days ago. Hi. I have just received these glasses. I didn't realise that they were going to be slightly mirrored. Do u have the same size and brown pink colour without the mirror plse? I am also waiting for refund of one overcharged postage cost of $39.95 too, ps. I won 7 auctions for a total of 12 little girl's summer dresses from the same seller. I first checked that seller offered combined postage, which she said she does.   I have not yet paid for the items.   The seller claims to be unable to combine/discount the postage fee on the invoice.   The dresses are listed on the invoice with a separate postal fee of $6.50 each, except for one auction lot of 6 dresses, for which postage is $10. So the total postage cost is $49.00. This is the uncombined postage for all the individual auctions I won from the same seller.   The actual cost to send all the dresses in one parcel will be well under $20 - it will be $16.70 for a 5kg satchel or $15.45 for a postal box.   I asked the seller to get help from eBay on how to adjust the invoice to combine the postage. The seller claims eBay has not got back to her, even though she has not waited for 24 hours.   The seller is now insisting that I pay the full $49 uncombined postal fee, and also now insisting that I direct deposit into her bank account instead of using PayPal so that she doesn't have to do anything about an adjusted invoice and discounted postage.   I don't know how to handle this situation. In C&S does everyone tick on the box to receive for tracking emails (to the buyer & yourself) for the parcels U post?  Or without C&S, go in online & subscribe to tracking emails?   I just noticed in the email I got this morn (was only trackable) that AP is evidently trying to 'pull up their socks' with:   'Current Photo Proof of identity and address will be required to collect your item'.   Maybe we should ask that the parcels be left at the PO, so the buyer has to show ID !!!   I wasn't happy when they wrote 'A postal awaiting collection card may also have been left for this item' (without the bold type).   What does everyone think?   By the way, delivery was 5 days from southern Vic to Noosa area Qld.             ... Hi, I listed an item as $12 postage ( I usually send in a prepaid satchel @ $12.73) I was posting bulk items that day and had the the item wrapped in bubble wrap, two layers of paper and bound with lots wide tape - the woman at the post office said it didn't need a satchel as it was well wrapped - she said it would be a little cheaper. I didn't check the price of each posted item that day and assumed it might be a $1 or 2 different from my listed $12 Anyway my buyer contacted me and basically said I had robed her as it was a $5 difference  - I said that it had about $3 worth of bubblewrap and paper so in actual fact I wasn't a huge overcharge and I didn't intentionally overcharge her. She was very rude when I said I factor in postal costs and handling charges - she said it should be part of the service. I refunded her $5 and she left me a negative saying I was the rudest ebayer she had ever had - I have made over 1200 sales and never had a negative before. Hi  I'm looking to sell an ice cooler that's been sitting unused in our garage for the last 12 months. Thing is it's a lot bigger than the usual items I have sold and I'm not sure what to do for the best with regards to delivery.   What's the best way to wrap/package a bulky item? It's quite big & weighs nearly 10kgs.
