I recently purchased a Coat (Item number Item number: 321115468762) on a buy it now price of $5 (bargain!!) Postage was priced at $6.95. I paid for the item immediately with Pay Pal. I have now received a message from the Seller stating: "Thank you for your purchase. I have checked with the post office and the correct postage is $12.75. Can you please forward the difference ASAP I will post when I receive the outstanding amount." The seller has a range of other items for sale with varying postage, so I am convinced they are aware not everything is the same price to post! They have not advised if they are willing to refund. Is this practice allowed? What can I do?

How can I simplify mailing, I mean if you try and work out the weight and measurements at the bottom of your listing and then up comes a price. Take the parcel tp the post office and hey prices dont match. How can you put a fair price that covers tape bubble wrap mikage etc .. I am not talking heaps just dont want to be out of pocket

Does anyone know how many postage options you are allowed to include in your listing? I thought it was three (or it used to be last time I used ebay), but it's only letting me add two.... I'm sure in the past it has let me have standard, registered & local pick up (or standard, registered & express), but now when I select the first two, the 'Allow buyers to pick item up from you' tick box is disappearing.... does anyone know? Thanks 🙂

I want to add postage to an item which is sold. Looked in help but can't seem to SELECT ITEM or SPECIFY DETAILS just don't understand how to do this. To me select means highlight but I can't do that in send invoice section. Then I have no idea what they mean by Specify Item??? Help, my poor buyer needs invoice to pay so he can get his goods. I was hoping someone could advise me on a problem I have with a seller. I purchased umbrella / log stand. On delivery I was shocked at the packaging as I could see the item through the bin bag! It was wrapped in a plastic bag with a bit of cardboard cellotaped at the bottom, then wrapped in a bin bag. The item was damaged the corners of the bucket was visible and damaged. I took numerous photos as I could not believe the condition of the packaging & the bucket before I even opened it. When I did I was even more shocked the bottom of the bucket was falling off!! Maybe that explains why they cello taped cardboard at the bottom of it. The corners are damaged where bits of sawdust was falling off. Absolutely no use to anyone! in the sellers description it does list that it is used so I was aware of that. It didn't state how bad in condition it was. The seller falsely listed an item as not described. so I contacted the seller about the issue, asked for their email address so I could send them the photos. I received a cold response with their email address. I sent the pictures on the 14/04/2013. Didn't get any response so i emailed them again on the 18/04/2013 no response. I emailed them again 19/04/2013 asking the seller if they could respond. If we could resolve the matter amicably. But if I didn't get a reply from them today 19/04/2013 I will have no option to open a case. Which I really don't want to. Or to leave them negative feedback. they replied saying they will accept a return BUT WILL NOT COVER EXTRA POSTAGE FOR RETURN they said its NOT REQUIRED BY EBAY. i replied ok with the return & refund but can they send me the conditions on eBay where it states that. As its not what I read on eBay. They replied when I open up the claim eBay WILL NOT FORCE ME to return extra postage only the original postage cost I do not cover damage. I really need help and advise as in their listing it doesn't state that they don't cover damage. I read on eBay that they do have to pay but I need to be 100% sure of my rights. I feel they have sold an item that wasn't described as said. They didn't correctly package the item. please someone advise me thank u

I have to send a small package to the US and would like to know what posting method paypal accept i.e. what AU Post bag I should be using?. The package shouldn't weigh more than 500gms but I would like to Track it as much as possible if possible. I was planning to put on a Delivery Confirmation card as well. Just to be on the safe side. I just want to cover myself if the parcel "went missing". Any and all help would be appreciated.

This is a long story but I would appreciate your advice. Recently, I have sold 2 things to a buyer and she paid by paypal. This buyer was on my blocked bidder list, but used someones ebay ID to bid. I did not know this until I saw her details on the paypal payment. She paid for 1 item very quickly, then ignored my invoice and messages regarding the 2nd. 3 days after the sale she contacted me and said she didnt really have the funds, could we agree to cancel the 2nd item? I thought this was unreasonable and refused, but I said that I would combine the postage to save some money. I sent the 2 items and now she has sent me an email saying that her address on paypal was incorrect- its the house number next door. The thing is, she needs to sign for the package and now she is saying that she will just let the package be returned to me, get a refund from paypal and leave me negative feedback. The reason I blocked her was because she bought from me before and said she never received the item. Aust Post said that they attempted to deliver(express post satchel)and had to leave a card but she didnt go to the Post Office to get the package. I scanned and emailed the receipt to prove I had sent it, and Paypal recommended I have the package returned to me and send it to her again- she decided that she didnt want to go through with the sale after all, saying that she didnt think I had really sent the package-even though the proof was there. She has sent me quite a few messages through ebay, one particularly accusing me of sending the package to wrong address on purpose-but I couldnt have even known it was wrong.She told me.Now I have received another message where she has called me 'rude','unhelpful' and 'tight'. I have 100% feedback and dont appreciate the stress this person is causing me, after I have sent her the package in good faith..I feel that she is now harassing and attempting to threaten me, and want to know what are my options?

i brought three solar panels on auction on e bay the courier rang today said one has been smashed i paid for the panels out of my personal account as pay pal would not pay for them because it was to big account yet i had the money in the account who is reponsiable

I won this item 390570024849 and reading that they wanted to wait for invoice waited about 24 hours and paid on the invoice I received, not realising it was an ebay automatic invoice Today I have received a request for another 40 USD..I have written back saying that 70 USD for posting a doll is ridiculous having received two very large dolls together for under 50 from New York. I have offered an extra 20 only. Is the seller able in its terms and conditions listed in the auction able to change the set values ie postage after the fact. Why put 30 if its going to be 70?? doesnt make sense to me..tried to be fair and offer what I believe is reasonable for priority knowing what other items are coming here for in the last week but is this till against ebay rules to increase post costs that are listed even if you mention it in your ad..? Cant get thru to Ebay, emergency shut down in Phillipines..thanks all

Hi eBayers, I bought three items from an eBay seller who advertised combined postage. The items arrived in one Australia Post mailer (less than 3kg). I asked seller on two occasions about this matter and he said he would refund the (2 x postal charges, $16) excess. The last assurance was on Monday 8 April. No refund has been seen, What do you suggest I do ?

Hi, I have come across a lot of Aus seller selling iphone car/wall chargers(for approx. $4 including postage) that are over the 20mm (approx. 25mm - 40 mm)width limit of Aus post regular mail.. How do they send it without paying for parcel post?? I asked Aus Post and they said if its more than 20mm thick I have to use parcel post... My charger costs $2.. How can I pay 6.95 for posting a small charger that weights almost nothing and costs only cents... Can someone please advise.. No point selling it if I have to pay almost $7 as postage.. not to mention other costs and commission on top.. Thanks

I have done- Purchased the satchels Signed up to click and send prepared my first item to send However, it says on the satchel, order, pay post in red box, track online.done! But i read that i still have to take the satchel to the post office to have it scanned for tracking?? Is this true?? I paid via paypal for the postage cost and printed up the labels

Their website says it's available for standard letters, but nothing about large letters. The reason I ask is because most of the things I post are small items so I send them in a small bubble mailer as a large letter for $1.20. If anyone has any answers that would be gr8! 🙂 Thanks ebayers! B-)

I recently noticed an item (specifically, 2 sample vials of perfume) that I might be interested in bidding on. However, the postage was listed at $8.80, which seemed excessive to me for such tiny and non-fragile items, so I emailed the seller asking if the vials would fit in a small padded envelope for cheaper postage (as I know that these only cost a couple of dollars). The seller replied saying that they could post them in a small envelope, but the postage could only be reduced to $5 "as would still have to pay eBay fees etc." It seems very unethical to me for a seller to expect that the buyer cover the cost of listing and selling the item, over and above the winning bid. I have sold on eBay myself and the way I see it, that is a cost that the seller needs to absorb in the final cost of the item, not something to tack onto P&H. I can't find anything in eBay policy that takes an explicit stance on this. Could anybody enlighten me on eBay's rules about this?

Im trying to sell some clothes. but the cheapest postage method I can find is 500g satchels. And really, who wants to pay $8 to post a $3 baby outfit. Combimed postage is great, if you have somethingmyou want to combine it with.But many people only like one thing. I see other people selling clothes offering postage of $3.50 and $4.00. how are they posting? I thought about large envolopes but I'm worried the clothes, once folded, would be too thick.

Hi i was looking for advice. I posted 2 items to a buyer on the 15th March she contacted me a week later to say they had not arrived and she needed the for the following day. I offer free P&P to keep costs down (and use standard Aus Post) but also offer express post which she never took. By letting me know a day before the event i could not rectify the problem as she lives in a different state. I have contacted Aus post regarding missing items (that by the way she no longer needs) and they say that as it wasn't tracked they have no proof of posting it so it's my word against her's in posting & receiving. I do however have proof of purchasing stamps a few days before the items were sent. We were communicating and i did offer her half the costs as a refund. But now she has opened a case against me for missing items. I have excellent feedback as a seller & buyers always say postage is fast etc.....From now on and due to this i am going to offer registered post....i can safely say i have learnt a lesson and have to tar every buyer with the same brush... 😕 Does anyone know where i stand on this matter before i reply to the open case against me 😞 Thanks for your help 🙂
