I gave negative feedback to a seller who supposedly sent an item twice and I received nothing both times. The sale has now been cancelled and I have been refunded. The seller is asking me to change my feedback to positive, but if there was no sale, why can't the feedback be deleted completely instead of him receiving positive feedback for a cancelled sale? Over the years I have bought bulk packs of spark plugs from the same chap. Years pass and when I run out, I look up the last transaction to find the seller's name. Now my purchase history is organised into last 60 days and individual years. Without getting started on how clumsy this is to search, there is no sign of any transaction involving spark plugs in any of the listed years. The one item for sale at auction sold, but the buyer pulled out. A second chance offer was made to the next highest bidder, but that did not result in a sale.  How do I now list the item for sale again, as when I hit 'relist' it comes up with the message "You cannot edit, relist or sell similar Second Chance Offer listings", which doesn't tell me what actually to do. I sold 3 stg silver charms to a buyer - front and back close-up photos, size in mmm and description was given. The feedback was +ve for all 3 items. Now, 3 months later, they want to return 2 of them for a full refund saying they are not happy with them and have never liked them and one was too small (a $7 item). They are also threatening to give -ve feedback!   My Return Policy includes  - We will only accept returns if an item is described incorrectly or is faulty...not simply because you have changed your mind..   Q1 - I presume I am under no obligation to refund them? I have sold something and posted it. I informed the buyer immediately it was sent. The buyer acknowledged this and said thank you. I have now received an email from them saying "they have been ripped off". I responded and advised I would refund. I would much rather refund than have anyone think I was defrauding them in any way.  If I do so  before they receive the item can they leave  a negative?  It does seem out of character for this person to make such a comment as their feedback appears to be good.  They have not responded to my messages. ... Does anyone know if refunds issues get deducted from your total monthly sales for that month? eg. An item sells on the 5th Feb for $50 and the item is faulty and you issue a refund. Does the $50 be deducted when the total sales for February gets released on sales reports?   Thanks,   ... View more

I'd really appreciate some assistance with an issue I've not encountered as a seller before.   Somebody used the buy it now option on a dvd I had for sale. Two days later they've sent me a mesage asking me to 'please negotiate the price down'.  I told the buyer that the price was firm and that if they didn't want to pay that amount then they needed to send me a request to cancel the purchase.  Now I'm wondering if that was the correct thing to do? I recently listed two similar laptops on ebay. Both with auction and Buy it now options. When I woke up in the morning I received two ebay notification emails (coming from ebay@ebay.com.au) that my items were sold. Wow! Now the first thing is, while posting, I kept the default option of 'No international postage' selected and offered free postage to Australia only.  The notification email contained messages from the respective buyers which appeared similar to me. Have a look below   Buyer1:  Hi Mate, Am the winning buyer of your lovely item, I will like you to contact me via ldemido@hotmail.com so we can sort out postage and delivery method. I will be traveling for a business trip so i will be accessing my email via iphone. It is now 7 days since I cancelled a sale at a buyers request.  He has 10 days according to ebay to confirm this and yet has not done so even though he was in pains at length to cancel.  I agreed to do this for him because I had made an error in the listing.................... charged postage and in the heading had the wording Free Post.He initallly  said he wanted the item so I invoiced him minus the postage.Then asked for 4 days to pay.  When the 4 days were almost up asked me to cancel. I didnt have a problem with this other than a concern .....will I get a defect?  He said no, I must cancel in order to get my FV fees back, yet with all of this and his urgency to cancel he hasnt bothered to confirm he asked to cancel.     What should I do now?   I need some sound advice.  Thank you. ...
