Money hold without posting tracking

"from 7 February 2022, if sellers upload valid tracking for less than 95% of their trackable orders, their payments will be placed on hold. "

How dare they hold people's own money. But I expected no less from managed payments. What else..... maybe charging fees for late posting or not answering buyer's messages? Why not, lets do that too, it'll be fun

My response was directed at davewil and he knows what I,m on about. He has accused me of being lazy and not knowing what I,m doing. Last time he attacked me on these forums it was over a $4500 book I had found for a charity I volunteer for.

Finding $4000 books on a regular basis doesnt just happen. It takes hard work, commitment and extensive study. Things davewil appears not to know anything about. He spends a lot of time attacking others but hasnt got much substance to back up his taunts.

davewil claims to be an expert ebay book seller who does everything right. So from one book dealer to another, there's all the information required in the photos to verify the authenticity of this $4000 book. ( assuming he actually has even a basic understanding of books )

Thats not the only rare one I,m trading at the moment. Theres quite a few valuable $1k + ones on the go. But what would I know ? According to davewil I,m just a lazy, mug seller who disrespects his clients.

The forums are all about exchange of ideas. Different people trying different things. If davewil took a breath for a minute and rationally considered some of the suggestions others put forward, rather than constantly slagging people off, he may have a bit more success as an ebay seller than he currently achieves.

You seem to consider that you shouldn't provide adequate information to your mug buyers.

Sadly I have found that a lot of online sellers have forgotten or don't care about customer service.  A simple thing like uploading tracking information just adds to a positive experience.

As noted in my first post on this thread, the majority of ebay buyers probably appreciate tracking numbers, particularly for the type of items you are selling. It could be good business to provide that service to them, particularly if you are a casual seller who doesnt need to value the time you spend on ebay..

But as also noted in that post, while ebay makes one size fits all, generic mandates based on the majority, there are plenty of niche sellers and buyers who have different motivations to the majority.

My buyers on two selling accounts are similar to me. They are running businesses and havnt got time to muck around checking tracking numbers to see if an item is on its way. The same as they havnt got time to muck around leaving fluffy feel good feedback. Its simply a commercial transaction. They buy, they pay, I send as described and in good time, they get their item ....The End.

If I have to spend too much time mucking around with stuff that doesnt actually change anything, ebay will become unviable for me. The result is I will simply do something else with my time to earn a living. Like thousands of others I sell unique stuff that often isnt available anywhere else. I have a range of products that I have made up for me which are only available on ebay and have sold in the hundreds and all to business / commercial clients.

ebay will still continue on if I leave, but if tens of thousands of sellers of unique items feel the same way and leave, it starts to become a problem for ebay. Studying recent data, I suspect this is already happening. ( and the data analysis could be another thread on its own ) That's why sellers have been receiving messages thanking us for hanging in there and ebay was giving sellers the $50 gift vouchers to spend on ebay a couple of weeks ago as a gesture of thanks.

Re: Money hold without posting tracking

As I said, your photos are unclear.   Very.

They could be of your ingrown toenails for all they show.

And the item # provided for a book "off in the morning to be sold" is certainly not yours.

It's an American listing and has been up for sale since March.

Did you have the right #?  Anyone can say "oh, I have one of those"

Your answer to me didn't provide any answers really, and was mostly waffle to pat yourself on the back.   TLDR and unnecessary IMO

I don't want to get in between you and Dave's ongoing skirmish, just curious as to what you were on about.

Sounds like a lovers tiff really, and totally irrelevant to the topic at hand
