New Ebay Nonsense Policy

Our store received 98.5% positive feedbacks since we operated business here in 2011. However, recently, we are classified as "Below Average" seller due to few stocks are not available to sell which we didn't take off from our store immediately. Very enough, our fault on that. However, we found 2 weeks ago Paypal has been holding our funds for nearly every single sale. We called Paypal and found out:

Due to new Ebay policy, Paypal will hold funds until the goods are delivered to customer for "Below Average" seller. The point is we have been updating delivery status with tracking number for nearly 2 weeks. The customer has signed for receiving 2 weeks ago. The funds are still holding by Paypal. Their explaination is they didn't receive delivery status as they cannot access such information! As a seller, we need to call them to inform the tracking number and they need to track whether the item is been delivered or not. Lucky, we have tracking number for all items. We asked Paypal, if there is no tracking number on item, then will Paypal holding the funds forever? Their explaination is our customer needs to call them to confirm they really receive the item.

This ridiculous policy is just wasting time and make nonsense. It takes us 20 mins to get the funds released for the goods which been delivered 2 weeks ago.

New Ebay Nonsense Policy

Good morning - there is somewhere in here where you can mark a listing as 'out of stock'

If you do a search in 'help & contact' you should be able to find it - or wait for a clever person to come in with another reply.

The new rules where PayPal can withold your fund sucks big time.

As to the tracking number you can still add it - just go to the listing and under the item there is a 'more actions' drop down box where you can add the tracking number. Don't ring them levitz, that will leave you open to abuse from them and that is never a good idea.

Good luck - Sandra 🙂

There is no excuse for not having items in stock that you are offering for sale especially as you can now choose the option to keep the listing live with 0 items available.

Not having an item in stock will quite rightly earn you a defect, too many of those and you will not only be downgraded but you may have your selling privileges suspended.

I cannot say I blame Paypal for putting a hold on funds from a seller who is rated below average, I would be unwilling to trust a below average seller too.

I can see the arguement for paypal holding funds.. but to expect the buyer to call Paypal to confirm receipt of the item is really too much. Really??  I've never heard of this before, hard to believe that paypal would release funds solely on the basis of someone else phoning - far too impractical and unreliable.  Buyers aren't even inclined to leave feedback these days.  I'd be phoning again to speak to someone else.  If you can prove lodgement that should be enough.

I think that response is a bit harsh.  I wonder how many sellers are actually aware of eBays new 'Out of Stock' policy.

And how would you know (as a buyer) if a seller has been given a below standard rating.  I'm quite sure they are not going to advertise that.

And personally, I don't think eBay/PayPal have any right to put a hold on OPs funds - it has been good enough in the past for funds to be available immediately, so a precedent has been set.

Too much goal-post shifting from both entities, and illusions/delusions of immortality.

Sorry, my post was in reply to the OP, not PJ.  Apologies.

Actually, I'd like to ask the question of  Why should anyone have to be continually ringing PayPal about their funds.

Everyone seemed to survive ok before this 21day (plus, in a lot of cases) hold on funds.  Now all this ridiculous provide tracking no's, proof of receipt, blah, blah.

Crock of S**T as far as I'm concerned.

I would find it extremely insulting to not be trusted anymore.

Good grief, levitz came in here for help not condemnation - not every seller is aware of what is and what is not available for them to do, so 'Ready, aim, FIRE' is not helpng them.

Can't say anything nice & helpful? then shut-up! - Sandra
