Hello,
After some time conversing with people yesterday I have been told by a few that there will be no PayPal fees under the new eBay managed payment system however my recent sales experiences with items listed after I was registered with managed payments has had the PayPal payments come through just as they always have before - with buyers personal details as the sender of payment and the associated PayPal fee as part of the transfer breakdown. The fee being charged to me from PayPal.
I am being told this is a mistake and I am being told there will be no PayPal fees.
Well, I would like to ask those that are already receiving Paypal fees for sales since being registered for managed payments : Are you still being charged the PayPal fee by payPal as it has always been ?
Have gone over eBay and Paypal fee totals etc so not concerned so much about that , just if that PP fee is still applied.
I am aware of the following info from eBay :
>
eBay Australia benefits of managed payments :
>
> eBay Stores selling fees for managed payments sellers
right down the bottom of the page :
> Fees for using PayPal
> We don't charge fees for using PayPal on eBay. However, if you accept PayPal payments, PayPal will charge a fee when you complete a sale, and the buyer pays with PayPal.
Thanks for your time

good point, thanks.
I'd been thinking that all sellers had to be over onto MP by but then there must be residual listings posted before my necessary MP date even.
a couple of sales this morning are a 50/50 split....one to PayPal and the other to MP.

You are in the minority. I haven't been, and according to reports on the board I am in the majority, been refunded any Paypal fees on any refund for a couple of years. And they stopped refunding the 30c before that.

I haven't listed anything since being signed up to Managed Payments yet TWO sold items since MP have been processed as MP, on two different IDs. That is, listings created prior to me being placed on MP.
I guess that means that what you have posted is just not true. It may take a while for all your payments to be Managed Payments, but once registered and verified your listings can be โmanagedโ under the new MP system.
In fact, eBay state as much on their โIntroducing Managed Paymentsโ page.
https://www.ebay.com.au/help/selling/getting-paid/introducing-managed-payments-ebay?id=4795
From that page (with bolding by me):
After you register
After you register, we'll activate your account for managed payments, which can take between a few hours and a few months to complete as we roll out the managed payments program.
Within 24 hours of activation, your existing eBay listings will automatically be set up for managed payments, and you won't need to make any changes to them.
If you use third-party tools to help manage your listings, inventory or finances, or to issue refunds, there should be no change in how you use those tools when you are activated for managed payments.

It's the relists, Sir Sales.
Once they relist they are treated as new listings and the current method of payment at that time applies.

I had listings before being placed on MP that were treated as MP when they sold.

I will clarify that the listings of mine that I have referred to in previous posts on this thread were Buy-Now listings.
I stumbled upon this eBay page this morning that deals with the subject of listings made before registering for Managed Payments where bids or offers have been made.
https://www.ebay.com.au/help/selling/all-about-listings/updating-listings-managed-payments?id=4848
It details what happens to listings that had bids or offers prior to a seller being put on MP. Here is a bit of that page:
Listings with bids or offers
If a listing has bids or offers, we won't update it until the purchase is complete. One of your requirements as a seller is that you may not change the listing between the time of the bid or offer and the completion of the purchase.
Here's what we consider a listing with a bid or offer:
When the buyer wins the auction or accepts the offer, the purchase will be processed via your PayPal account (if the buyer pays via eBay checkout or an eBay invoice) or other payment method you'd offered in the listing.

I haven't changed over to MP yet but I'm being charged the higher fees by eBay already.

eBay probably do that to sellers who think feedback policy is there to be ignored.

With managed payments for sellers, when you pay with PayPal the money is paid to eBay Commerce Australia, and they will then pay the seller.
It is the same on other sites now, like Etsy. You buy an item, the money goes to Etsy, and they then pay the seller.
