I find it funny how Ebays so called 'top rated' seller rubbish says a person with 1 neutral (and 100% feedback) in a year is not in this rating yet an account with 80 negatives and neutrals is. lol. Yet another bizarre system from the same people who brought you "best match".
Keep up the 'great' work Ebay.

It depends on the DSRs, not the number of negatives. A couple of 1 or 2 DSRs will do it for low volume sellers, whereas 80 negs will not affect a seller selling tens of thousands a year.

After I got TRS I had to close my store as suddenly had minimum visibility on ebay best match for every single listing in my store.
Prior to closing the store I compared my sales record with the sales records of the 2 or 3 sellers who hog the front 20 pages of best match in my target category and that confused me further as can not understand what ebay wants me to do.
Perhaps ebay simply wanted me to close my store so that their preferred sellers get the lions share of business.
I did come across this below on the net which may explain what is happening
"''The Progressive Retailers Organization (PRO Group) is partnering with eBay to further its membersโ e-commerce strategies.
The alliance will lead to a storefront presence on eBay that will provide greater traffic for the buying groupโs specialty A/V dealers and improved visibility for their value-added services, said Dave Workman, PRO Groupโs executive director''
''Getting in on the ground floor of the initiative will help give PROโs โbricks-and-clicksโ dealers higher priority on product searches''"

How they figure a 100% rating (with 3000 sales) is worse then another with 80 plus negatives is a joke. No matter how many sales.
In regards to the best match; Ebay is deliberately trying to remove all sellers and only allow the favoured 1-2 they always place at the top of best match. That is why your listings never get up there and never will. I have the same issue which have taken on to Ebay since it began. Other auctions site to not treat sellers in this way.

It has to be more than just one or two low DSRs, I actually got 5 but had an email from ebay saying it was obvious this was contrary to my usual standard so they were not removing my TRS.
They were all from the same person who thought they could decide there own postage cost for 5 items that they wanted sent express and were not happy when I said only Platinum Express or Express parcel! Did they honestly think I was going to send nearly $100 worth of items in an ordinary express satchel with no seller protection?????

OP...it looks like you must have scored a few ( and that's all it takes ) DSR assassins. 'Sometimes' an auction listing can help.
Pick one of your lowest priced items and list it as an auction.
When it gets close to ending it will start sitting around the top in best match and maybe gets visits to see what else you have.
The TSR system really stinks because out of 200 sales all it takes is 2 non-communicators trashing your DSR's to lose a TRS badge.
Ebay trying to become an Amazon is like a pumpkin trying to become a banana.

PJ...on my main selling ID the upper limit for low DSR's is 1.60%
which equates to 1 assassin in 125 individuals.
Given your experience it would be the same as 1 person buying ( and trashing the stars for ) 5 items out of a pool of sales to 650 individuals.
Ebay must of course set benchmarks for evaluating sellers.
The current system sucks but there is a new model on the way if Cassini doesn't wreak too much havok in between.

I had never heard of Cassini so I googled it and found something over at Auctionbytes about it
http://www.ecommercebytes.com/cab/cab/abn/y12/m10/i15/s02
By the looks of it ebay is still rolling out Cassini plus it also looks to me like ebay (Cassini) developers are beta testing in the live environment.
Today I searched in Australian Decimal Coins for a "2004 mint set" sorted by cheapest price and was presented with all manner of results from the US etc which had nothing to do with Australian Decimal coins so then refined the search to Australia only and then the search defaulted back to best match. ROFL!!!!
It seems that "search" is completely stuffed.
There are so many things wrong with this website now that my head spins just thinking about it.
I wonder how long ebay buyers can put up with this nonsense before they have to jump ship too.
As a seller the recent decision to shut my store wasn't too difficult as my spreadsheet told me exactly what was happening and told me to get out before the water went to rapid boil.
I doubt that TRS status enhances best match visibility so my opinion on it is don't stress if you loose TRS status.
The spreadsheet I was using told me TRS status was not at all helpful, in fact the spreadsheet I use told me that TRS is very very bad and best match placement showed me that TRS pushes you further down the list of best match so it would appear that the opposite of what ebay leads us to believe is true.
The recent radical drop off in sales and best match visibility could have all been a glitch with Cassini that just destroyed the ebay store based business that I was setting up so have no idea what is going on and don't really want to align any business enterprise with ebay now as it kind of reminds my of some kind of charismatic religion which is run on spin and BS.
I may (or may not) come back and have a look at ebay in a few months time to see if the "new model" is any better.

kafav many of us have no idea what is going on with this place. Hopefully someone will be along soon who can explain it all in a coherent manner.
I found this link at ecommercebytes which may help
