Hi, We recently got a message, claiming to be from ebay, which I strongly suspect is a scam by somebody who has managed to get into our ebay site. This message claimed that we had to update my bank details. As Ebay already has our bank details and has had them for many years, I naturally thought it very suspicious. Another cause for my alarm is that, the message threatened us with not passing on any money due to us if we did not immediately pass on our bank details. Tonight I got another message telling me that I would not be paid for recent sales we had. I clicked on the message and saw they showed the details of our account showing only the last four numbers as is the norm so I followed the prompts. However when I got the phonecall verifying everything. The person at the end of the line told if the information was correct press ...... (not decipherable) I now believe this was a hoax and have withdrawn monies from the account. Can somebody please let me know if this is indeed a low life hacker or not. ... View more

OK this is not a question but an update of an issue that others may be facing.  I posted (separate thread) a while back that ebay charged me twice for the annual plus fee.  Numerous phone calls got me nowhere.  I ended up going to facebook and sending a message via messenger app.  To my surprise I go a response the same day.  After quite a few messages back and forward over a number of days (including screen shots showing the 2 payments I thought it was another dead end as things went quite for a while Then on 18/6/2024  I got this below in my messages on my account.  No refund as yet but hopeful.  Posting this here to keep ebay accountable, also if others have same problem then there is hope it might be rectified.    " We have recently had a technical issue that has caused some users to have their eBay Plus membership charged a second time. We have identified you as one of those impacted users.  We deeply apologies for the inconvenience caused.  We are in the process of issuing you a full refund for that second charge.  Thank you,  eBay Team " ... I want to stop ebay keeping my logged into PayPal on trusted device. I follow the email, log out but next time I buy from ebay I get the same email over and over again.  Contacting PayPal said to contact you as it's not them. I am selling low value antique items on EBAY and EBAY insists that some buyers pay GST even though the law in Australia exempts such items from GST. I have spent several hows using the EBAY help options to get some action taken, and have gotten precisely nowhere. In addition some supposedly expert the EBAY system referred me to told me he could take over my computer and get the matter followed up if I paid hem $112! Item was defective. Opened ebay return. Wrapped item, printed return label and posted. Item posted Friday 23 and tracking started Monday 26 June. Tracking now says "waiting at Hurstville Post shop for collection Tue 27 Jun 6:48am". Ebay still shows "Your refund should be processed within 4 days of delivery." If the seller doesn't pick up the return from the post office, is it deemed 'not delivered by July 3' (next Saturday)? Similar question asked 3 years ago, but no definite resolution posted. Hi, i've been an eBay member quite a long time now. My Husband is trying to create his own account, he fills in all the information and clicks "create Account" and the page just hangs with a round progress bar. He let the page sit for about Half an hour and still hangs.
