Hi eBayers,   I bought three items from an eBay seller who advertised combined postage.   The items arrived in one Australia Post mailer (less than 3kg).   I asked seller on two occasions about this matter and he said he would refund the (2 x postal charges, $16) excess. I recently noticed an item (specifically, 2 sample vials of perfume) that I might be interested in bidding on. However, the postage was listed at $8.80, which seemed excessive to me for such tiny and non-fragile items, so I emailed the seller asking if the vials would fit in a small padded envelope for cheaper postage (as I know that these only cost a couple of dollars). The seller replied saying that they could post them in a small envelope, but the postage could only be reduced to $5 "as would still have to pay eBay fees etc."   It seems very unethical to me for a seller to expect that the buyer cover the cost of listing and selling the item, over and above the winning bid. I have sold on eBay myself and the way I see it, that is a cost that the seller needs to absorb in the final cost of the item, not something to tack onto P&H.     I selected the 'pick up only' option when posting the ad and stated in the ad that item was 'pick up only as it is fragile and heavy' The buyer now wants the item posted as my expense as they are saying it says free under postage!  Of course it does, I chose PICK UP ONLY which is free! I recently won an auction that had ""free international postage" stated on the listing. The seller sends me a msg two weeks after the sale date (I paid immediately after winning the auction with PayPal), stating that postage will cost me 139 pounds . Hi, I've been trying to decipher the AusPost Click & Send info. on their website yet can't seem to fully understand how it works... uh-ha yes I am blonde, lol! I just can't seem to find whether there is any basic insurance coverage if parcels goes missing or are damaged. I understand that there is a Signature on delivery option for a small fee for proof of receipt but are sending items via this method covered at all by a base limit without having to purchase any extra insurance? I'm a hobby seller & have learnt from a past mistake & have only been using Registered Pre-paid post bags but this is quite costly for buyers as each 500g satchel costs $7.85 when purchased in bulk of 10 & then $3.20 is charged for Registration which in total costs $11.05 although I charge $11.00. I have asked both my 4 Iocal post offices in regards to this & have called AusPost numerous times & for some reason I keep having to deal with employees that have no idea or straight answer for me! Seriously one would think AusPost would debrief their staff on what they sell! I was hoping that someone would be kind enough to shed some light on this subject for me in regards to whether it is a viable option with the same or similar coverage, insurance & proof of receipt wise as Registered Signature Post as I would love to save my customers a few extra $ if at all possible via this method.     I'm new at this selling bit, so appreciate any help. I advertised free postage. I'm sending flat A4size envelopes, costing approx $2.80, but today I added a dice which increased the height of envelope to approx 1 cm, postage was $7.30, Australia Post. I am using the autralian ebay and it calculates the p & p for you but you have to put in method of postage (ie. satchel, mailbox) but as it is a canvas painting it is too big to use one of these and there are no options to package myself. What option should I therefor choose?   ... View more

I currently use Aus Post - below are the details and pros/cons I'm facing!   Key Points Worldwide postage Parcels are around 20x20x10cm Weight is under 250g Insurance/Registered is not a must MOST IMPORTANT POINT - Online Tracking is required Cons Registered Post is great for insurance, however does not provide online tracking. Cost - $20 (Drawback - no online tracking) Pack and Track insures up to $500, has online tracking, but only delivers to around 4 countries. Cost - $20 (Drawback - not available worldwide) Express International - ticks all the boxes re insurance, online tracking, and ships to most countries, however comes at a cost of $60 (Drawback - too expensive) Pros I post on a daily basis - the post office is just around the corner from my office I've looked breifly into DHL, however the online quote for my parcel sizes and weight seemed pretty hefty at around $60 per parcel.   If anyone has any suggestions at all, these would be most greatly appreciated!! ... Yes I have been caught several times because ebay has added postal cost without knowing dimension or weight of parcel. Have requested winners not to pay until correct postage has been given but some are  quick to pay and I am out of pocket.  It all depends on the post code and you dont know that until after the auction. I purchased a bag from ebags in Dec and still havent got my parcel. The gobal tracking status hasnt been updated since ealy January.   I am trying to track down the package as the eBags (the seller) has been very unhelpful and doesnt care about customers (never use them) and PayPal won't help either. hi there, im back again!! recently i went through a dispute with a non paying customer, again im going through the same deal! i dont understand whats with the non paying bidders lately?? now this..... a customer contacted me in regards to an item she purchased a month ago yes a month ago only to tell me she hasnt recieved it yet. now i always track my items and found out it was delivered on the 31st of january . my problem is the address she gave me at the time isnt the same address that she has listed.  all i know is what suburb. now i always double check addresses before sending it. i have asked her if she had moved house in the month and no reply. my issue is why wait a month to tell me?? how can i find out her old address  if she has moved in that time. please help 🙂 ... I recently bought a quantity of items from a seller on EBay USA totaling near $2100.00. The individual items had a postage value of approx $58.00 per item and the inital price for postage was $1100.00 approx. I requested a combined postage fee and that came in at $495.00. The total weight of the items was around 25kg ( so  I assumed that the postage cost was what it was and did not doubt the seller ) The items arrived poorly packaged and jammed into three UPS Large Flat Rate boxes each with a postage value and total fees of $77.95  giving a combined total of approx $230.00 to ship all the items. That left an excess postage fee of $265 dollars which I believe the seller pocketed at my expense. The items were all small and easily handled and considering I spent nearly $2000.00 one would think it only fair that I should not be ripped on postage or charged  what appears to be a $265  handling fee. What is the best way of handling this complaint please, Thank you in anticipation, Mark ...
