I started a new account for selling about a month ago. I didn't use it for a couple of weeks as I was getting my content together and making sure I'm ready to sell, generally. So last week I put up some items and then almost instantaneously the account was suspended temporarily. I contacted them, had to answer a few random questions about the nature of what I'm selling, where I'm located etc, and the account was re-enabled. Those items finished, happy buyers too - I received some good feedback already. So I put up the next batch last night, and this morning the account is suspended. After I sent a message for it to be re-enabled, I am now notified that I am a security risk to the community blah blah best we part ways blah blah. So I started a chat - similar outcome, however when I asked how I can sell in the future without bans happening, I was informed I cannot sell and any other accounts I use, past, present and future, will now also be suspended. Also no answer as to what I did wrong. The whole experience is quite offensive - I'm just starting out a new business that I planned to run on ebay - so I'm naturally heartbroken, adding insult to injury, my account that I've had since 2004, 100% positive feedback, purchasing on average about $200/month, will now also be cancelled (as an IT guy I know it will be ridiculously easy to link them together by my name/email/address/phone so it's only a matter of time now) So now I'm wondering what I did wrong, as far as I can tell it must be one of these: 1) The photos I put on some of my items are from my instagram - I sell orchids, and the ones that I was selling were offsets (cuttings) from parent plants that I had featured on instagram - maybe copyright picked up on this? not sure 2) I refused to send to states WA/Tas/NT due to quarantine restrictions? In a way that is restricting the market 3) The account name was orchid.guru that was pretty much the same as my personal website orchid.guru - in a way this the use of a brand or maybe a promotion of the site which may be in violation? I'm thinking that it was probably (3) that got me booted but it could have been (1) or (2) as well. But more importantly I have enjoyed using ebay and looked forward to running a business off ebay. I really regret that I made a mistake (whatever it was) that got me booted however I feel the process is ridiculously unfair and I have been hard done by this "kangaroo court" Is there any other option available to me other than to appeal to ebay on this open community (since they won't accept my appeal elsewhere)? I am still not clear where I stuffed up, but I aim to do better in the future, if given a chance.
