Hi guys, I’m a new seller on eBay and have just uploaded 2 items on eBay last night, and this morning I found eBay have shut my account down saying the activities I did had risks to eBay community. I tried to contact eBay customer service and they said they could not tell me why the account was shut down. Does that means I would have no idea why my account was shut down permanently at all? The volume pricing offer i.e. where you save 10% for purchasing more is not showing on the front end. It is showing when I set up my product page, but it doesnt show on the main, front end, page. My postage offer that I filled in, is also not showing. Are there certain requirements you need for these to be live? Or, is there something else that needs to be done for these to be options on the live page. Greetings Gurus,   Has anyone else noticed that the order delivery address formats keep changing when you look at an Ebay Sales Order I.E. the ebay: random reference? (whatever it is) and the "Street Address" seem to keep changing on me (As in the position that it presented).   I normally choose the "Copy full address to clipboard" and then paste into excel and let Excel sort itself to suit the rest of my documentation. I have attached an image to show what I mean, these are 2 consective orders.   I have noticed this several times over the last 4 ~ 6 weeks   This is doing my head in!  What I can normally achieve in 2 ~ 3 minutes is now taking me closer to 5 ~ 6 minutes per order to process & If I am not on top of it, my couriers seem to have trouble sending parcels to John Doe, ebay:jlasbh Beehive NSW 8888 instead of John Doe, "## I am a street address", Beehive, NSW 8888   I have noticed this before and have been trapped.   As I understand it, Ebay have been on a pilgamage to sort out Suburbs & Postcodes, Kudos to them for that but I don't understand how it would affect theese fields.....   Surely I am not a lone soldier here!   Any suggestions?  How / Is it possible to draw Ebay's attention to this issue   Cheerz   ... I successfully sold an item recently and received the normal confirming email from eBay.  The listings of several other items concluded unsuccessfully at the same time and eBay's emails advised accordingly.  24 hours later the buyer of the original (successful) sale emailed to request an invoice for a second item he'd bought in the overall batch.  I thought I must have missed seeing this confirmation of a second sale.  I (double) checked all of the original eBay emails but there wasn't one confirming the second sale, however it was displayed in my 'sold' folder and unnoticed.  That matter was resolved promptly.  Does this glitch surprise anyone, or is it par for the course?  Lee. ... I successfully completed a sale with a repeat buyer, Item Posted, Received, and Feedback Left, only to find a Disputed Transaction" Had been filed. Because I was on good terms with the buyer, I emailed and asked her what the problem was....her reply was that she had not filed a dispute.  So I supplied the information eBay asked for, which was all there anyway....and waited. Thought it would be sorted.  Nothing......So I got onto chat and was informed that the length of time to resolve would be between 4 & 5 months.  Boom.....fell off chair.  I have asked them to email the buyer and get clarification from her but they won't, and I don't feel that I can keep bothering her, as it is not her problem.  But feeling a bit like a "Shag on a Rock" Is there anyway to circumvent chat scripted responses and appeal to someone with some knowledge within eBay? A buyer bought an item from me that he wanted to return because he said he ordered it by mistake.  I messaged him through eBay that I had done the same thing and that the way out of it was for him to put it up for sale himself.  I had bought it on the "no returns" condition and had sold it the same way.  He negatively reviewed me saying I hadn't even apologised.  This issue is more than 90 days old so eBay don't seem to have a mechanism for me to challenge it. My sale offer was accepted by a potential buyer and after the payment method was sorted out, the buyer asked me for a favour to purchase a gift card for $500. I was told my paypal account will have $500 added to the price of item i was selling on eBay. I am not confident about doing this, as i think the eBay transaction is for selling items and it doesn't include "favours"... Am i correct to feel a bit suspicious? ... View more

I've been selling on and off for a while but am still confused about how fees work! I am just a hobbyist downsizing my collections. I am tryng to working out the best selling methodolgy mindful of the hits of fees from ebay and paypal so my question is about postage.   Does it make any difference if you offer a single price and include postage vs a price plus postage? For example you have an item for $20 and the postage is $3.30. It is best to show the single price as $23.30? Does it make a difference to paypal or ebay or do you loose a fee on the the single amount anyway?   I am right in working out that the total loss on fees per transaction is 10.9% to ebay + 2.6% paypal + $0.30 (PP)?   If anyone can explain the best way for me to do this that works our best for me and for a potential buyer that would be great. I've been trying to add the fee buffer to postage since it's a hard cost so for example to cover $3.30 in postage you need $4 from the buyer?   Would love to hear thoughts on this? Hi,   I'm new to this discussion board. Nice to meet you.   I bought labels for 2 items that I sold (this was in August). However, I changed my mind and voided them. I spoke with eBay customer service and they told me that I didn't need to do anything else. The money for the labels will be credited to my eBay account or refunded back into my PayPal (which I chose to do). That was 2 weeks ago. The money I paid for those labels have not been refunded to me.   I manually paid the eBay fees, including the labels, so I think that is why. But eBay said that they would refund me for the labels regardless because they haven't been used.   I just want my money back. Surely it can't take this long to void and refund labels.   Next time, I think I’ll just let eBay take the fees out automatically to prevent this from happening again.   Is there anything I can do to get my money for the labels back? ... I listed a a Police Hat Badge last night and this morning i have received a message to say because of policy regarding police items it has been removed. it was listed in Collectibles Historical Police . there has been a lot sold in the last 6 months and some even listed right now. The one i had listed was exactely the same as a previous item that had sold so I just pushed the "sell one like this button"  and made a couple of changes to suit my ad. Given the context of the current situation, should sellers who repeatedly mis-advertise their PPE listing as 'in stock' when in fact it is not, therefore delaying people's accquisition of essential PPE be policed? If the market place allowing these sellers, would the market place be liable for potential action down the track? Surely there are metrics on recent feedback performance on specific item categories that will alert you of these transgressions.  ... View more

Earlier this month I fell on my way out the door (complete with the ebay satchels), couldn't get up so called the ambulance.  The satchels were the last thing on my mind.   Long story short; I was hospitalized for 3 weeks and 2 days, transferred to RPA (Sydney) for surgery and in and out of consciousness  but I did finally manage to contact a friend to get and send satchels.   Arriving home I find 42 (yes 42!) ebay messages from the buyer in which he called me a hag, a thief, a shrew and that he wished all hell upon me and my family....and the two negs.   I started deleting until I realized that I should keep them.  I'd like to reply to the negs, as I see other people do so that potential buyers can see ther was a reason for the items being two weeks late.   So how is it done, please?  ... I have had some items on ebay for about 3 weeks or so, and it originally said, good until cancelled. Now I have just listed more items last night and they are showing as renew in 30 days but not showing now.
