I have recenctly had a poor eperience with a tranasction. Back in March 2, 2020, I used a 10% voucher to purchase a Marshall JCM 800 from a music store. at the time of purchase there was stock available, some dys later i received a call from a saleperson stating that stock had been damaged in the warehouse and that I woul have to wait until July for new marshall orders to be delivered. COVID 19 hit and the estimates for delivery was pushed past July. Early Aug I raised a case with PayPal as I was concerned with the 180 days of Buyer protection that was soon to expire. The seller contacted me and offered a solution where they would refund the full purchase money and that I would repurchase back at that price. I thought this was ok. PayPal redistrubuted the funds. In repurchasing the same product, within 30mins I had lost 10% of the purchase price. I'm annoyed that the seller didnot suggest this would be so. I arguded my point with them and they again, refunded. The sale treminated. I enquired what would they sell the same product to me for? The price was now $200 more. This meant that I had now lost $511 in less than an hour. All I wanted was a clarification on the buyer protection. Instead the sellers business ethics were on display. they had had my money since March 2 to Aug 20 interset free and have the check to raise the price. I have to say a poor example of their cutomer service and business ethics.
I have contacted PayPal about their action where they say that cannot take action because the seller refunded the money. I have contacted eBay, no response has been forthcoming.
