Just a heads up to new sellers ( and old) There is a big increase in buyer scams right now. eBay is being swamped (as well as FB and Gummy) Called a mom&dad scam, they are easy to spot as they always mention a random family member, to try to win your trust. They also put on pressure to secure the sale quickly. EG " I need to pay today so I can get it in time for my aunty's birthday. Do you have PayPal? Can you email me asap ?" Just to let the community know how bad it is, 3/4 "buyers" have messaged me after making offers, and tried to pull this scam, across the board on all forums. Nowhere is safe from this buyer scam atm ALWAYS check the profile of your buyers if they do this. On eBay they are usually unregistered users who joined up that day, On FB, they are actually hacking real people's accounts, which makes it harder to spot. However there are still some tell tale signs like their profile says they are abroad, suspicious activity on their page... And in one recent case I recently encountered, I checked the profile and immediately flagged why a Polish man of aprox 60 could possibly have a grandmother in Australia alive and well, waiting for her purchase on his behalf ( via PayPal of course) At her age I can see why he's in a hurry!?! Lmao. Just be careful of buyers and PayPal requests, especially if they hint at a sob story or apply pressure payment for details. On a side note this scam is an offshoot of a mom and dad txt scam that robbed people of mega millions world wide. For more information on these style of scams please research on Google,.or even discuss on community boards such as this. And remember. A scammer is only as smart as his victim. Get scam ready, stay on top of current scam information before selling or buying online. Peace! ✌️
